any when i play Dawn of War, the wordings are abit "cacat"....but the images are ok...

guys im looking for a mobo that support my socket 478 and have PCI-E slot.. any recommendation?

i saw one few weeks ago in the garage sales. asrock brand. don't know whether still available or not. just checkout there and see..

if looking for new one as far as i know only asrock, biostar and ECS produce boards like this, not too sure what models are they. i think someone here has mentioned it also last time.

guess i would go for an ASRock MOBO if those brands are the only options ... any idea where i could get my hands on 1?

My current setup

P4 2.4 'Prescott' non HT
ASRock P4i65G mobo
512 Kingston DDR 400
no GC as my 5200FX burn edi, it was AGP and so is the mobo..

SO the thing is i wan to minor upgrade my system , add some ram and a decent GPU as i would want to be able 2 run games like red alert 3 n the new NFS titles with decent graphic quality..


Need recommendations to this.. nothing too expensive though around 900 budget here.. all help appreciated

if u really do get the board... i suggest 9400GT for u... more than enough to run Undercover at decent quality and frame rate...

running the latest catalyst now....but problem still persist once install the g/c.

mebbe u r right....hardware problem....deng....need to hunt for a replacement...any recommendations....below rm100...and hopefully...have shader 3.0/DX10.1..... (kinda impossible with dat budget but wishful thinking laaaa..... )

9400GT enough to run latest games at reasonable setting?? like crysis or NSF and CnC: Red Alert 3 a 9500GT would fare better ...

Seems like the best choice of mobo for 478 Brand New i mean.. any better alternative with better spec ? only important thing is the PCI-E Slot and SATA

Urm.. i looked around and Biostar P4M900-M4 looks like the best bet. RM180 on the price list
only bad thing is the m-atx.. looks like all the 478 boards these days are m-atx .. correct me if I'm wrong

Now only the GPU .. no suggestions for a budget card? just scared the 9400GT cant keep up with upcoming games

forgot 1 last thing CPU cooler to get my p4 2.4 to a reasonable 3.2GHZ any suggestions under RM 100 if possible

mirco ATX board is good wat....can be used as HTPC...

the P4M900 is a good choice....also, you'll need a pcie card...not more agp with the said board...also ddr2 as well...

i read another forumer said the asrock mobo was damn lame, so i didnt even need 2 think about it

it was the socket 478 with pcie model

well some time back my AGP card burned .. and then no hope for gaming edi .. even DOTA cant high setting wen 5v5 so its a good time to upgrade to pci-e.. never wanted to because the AGP card would be kept aside and wasted but now ... the old ram will go into my old celeron box that will run windows home server. [Anyone wana trade 2x256 to 1 stick 512?], DDR 2 is a cheaper choice aso cuz i gona put 2gb inside.... DDR400 killer price now

I'm still stuck wen it comes to the GPU is the CPU a bottleneck to newer cards? or will a HD4850 work just as good?

that's gonna be a serious bottleneck if you use hd4850 with the prescott. well, whatever gc you pair with your p4 now is gonna be bottleneck anyway
since your budget is just rm300-400, why don't you go for 9500GT/9600GSO/9600GT?

Seems like P4 is still able to play Crisis at medium setting with 3870.

if bottleneck still want to spend so much on GC???

9500GT maybe still okay, but 9600s???

ran the games on my laptop with 8600M GS (take it as a 8500GT/9400GT but with 128-bits memory)

NFSUC 1280x720 all high except for: No AA, AF and Word detail medium
RA3 1280x800 Medium settings but upped some to high, forgot which already

looking at the settings on astria's lappie, perhaps a 2nd hand 8600GT/GTS might be ok too..then can save some money for your next upgrade...hehe
