Very helpful you guys! Done boot in safe mode and change resolution etc etc. it seem like refresh problem but no matter how i change the refresh rate it still black screen if i go higher than than 640 x 800. I decided to return the card le.. no hope..

same here....can also only do 60hz/75hz.

my lcd is a repaired unit.....sent to repair it...a coupla years back...didn't check other res when i got it back....

Currently i check the driver version in device manger is 8.5xx 20/08/2008 one

did you try some newer or older versions of catalyst driver?
coz i experinced before, new drivers don't always work. my bro's pc when used the latest drivers got BSOD appear after some time, after revert to older version no more already.

i dont bother upgrading unless i am sure its going 2 help my performance

yeah, many have problems with CCC. even my bro's one also. keep having probs with the vpu recover thingy. i see some people rather just have the driver installed only.

i already posted this in the past versions of this thread. Install drivers only and use Ray Adam's ATI Tray Tool, best solution for all. CCC? crap as far as i know.

CCC is really crap and resource hungry. especially on our limited cpu power and ram...

normally i just install the vanilla driver only(for my axp2k with R9550). if want oc or tweaking, i use ati tray like Ed mentioned.

agreed. Catalyst Crap Center..kinda regret a bit that i got an ati for my bro's pc..problems here and there..lucky now no more already. probably that's why all my graphic cards have been nvidia so far..

you should check out the 22" LCDs...prices are slightly more than 19" LCDs...better go 22"

yeah...saw the comparison between 19" and 22" at a shop that day...not much difference also..from far you might see that the 19" looks like 22". but some circumstances don't permit me to get 22"..haha..if not i sure get already..
