i know there's 845... (once owned this mobo)

succeeded by 865 and 875, then Intel come up with 848 as an updated 845/budget 865...

sth like the relationship of P43, P45 and X48 now...

OT: in the process of getting Gundam 00 Season2... can't wait man!!! rclxms.gif

i've oced it to maximum 3.5Ghz..but less table..3.4ghz stable on normal working condition but less in gaming..will crash after half / one hour gaming.. 3.2ghz is the best overclocked speed i can get for everything.. stable and less disturbing sound produced from the proc..
the bad thing about this mobo is only 2dim memory slot..2gb ram max.. ITS REALLY NOT ENOUGH FOR VISTA..:cry.gif:
but overall its still a good mobo..

Added on October 5, 2008, 10:02 pm848 support up to 800fsb thou..
but really rare in the market biggrin.gif:

Added on October 5, 2008, 10:11 pmto all respectful s478 users..
i looking for new or used mobo that support 4gb DDR400.. with agp
prefre 865.. tell me if u able to find any of that..

848 chipset is a cut cost version from 865PE.Seems like it has great o/c performance too!

800 ? Guess we don't have 800chipset. The 800 you mean is FSB ? The older version of S478 mobos are running with lower FSB like 533 and 400FSB.

800 u mentioned is most likely VIA Chipset, not intel's, something like P4P800VM.

i think what he mentioned is about fsb... like p4p800, p4c800, p4s800 etc... that 800 in those asus mobo mean support 800fsb cpu. correct me if i wrong. wink.gif

@redsun86
have you stresstest the oced speed?? i strongly believe that at 3.4GHz for your case is not stable in orthos. even at 3.2ghz it shows stable in everything but i would advice that orthos it as well to comfirm 100% stablility. better play safe than risking your rig in long run.

fylon, Edmin, raymond and some others are hardcore ocer in 478. get tips from them. hehe....

The 800 is indicating 800FSB supported model. Not a chipset from Intel.

those 800s are those mentioned by edmin and kabu. either it's via 800 series chipset or those 800 in asus mobo.

heard before. saw it somewhere here. if not mistaken it was in the software or overclocking thread. it's for stressing the cpu like prime95 rite?
