sigh..thats what i'm worries....if the gap quite big, i'lll rather stay with my current GPU and wait for the pric e foe c2q to drop!

OH gosh,left only 4 guys who will stick to their old school rigs only. The rest are already hunting for C2D,C2Q,G80 and G92 already. The reason why i do not shift is because i hardly utilize my rig. No gaming nowadays,quite boring.

same here, ran back stock at 3Ghz XD
Now just use it for BT, browsing net and watch videos only

we r in d same boat. me only RA3 nowadays when got time. if i get a new rig, also dunno what 2 do with it...lol... play games? dunno have time or not. if i have the time to play games, i would rather use the time to rest after a day's work, perhaps go lepak with friends, take photos, or even hang out online, maybe watch some anime, movies, series, etc. Socialise a bit, not always sticking on the PC, haha...so a message to my own P4 rig, I m not abandoning ship yet..

no doubt like pengster mentioned, the postprocessing might slow down a bit on our P4 compared to new CPU, but think again, it gets the job done, right? driving a kancil vs ferrari theory goes here too. Both cars can get you to the same destination and gets the job done too in the end. The only issue is, can you tolerate the speed, and afford the luxury and weight all those factors into justifying to purchase a ferrari instead of kancil? a matter of want vs needs, vice versa.

Haha.. Gonna stick to this setup for another few more years after this upgrade. Left few parts to get my rigs work now.

Yea.. Your words make sense. Haha.. But then, somehow for some cases the time taken for the driver to reach the destination from the source does matter.

Well.. If ur P4 ain't mainly use for gaming, then just stick whatever u have to avoid the bottlenecking issues. Afterall, u saved back ur bucks for buying new GC.

Me too, I'm still with my P4 rig.
Didn't have any plan to shift as current rig still serve me perfectly. Not to much into gaming also coz damn busy with work.
The most is watch anime, movies or surf net.

Yes, like i mentioned, it is all personal justification. You weight the pros and cons, and decide from there.

will also stick P4 for 1 or 2 year since i already have C2Q (which my wife using T_T) and i no play game like C.O.D 4 crysis etc so buy new PC wont benefit me much also....

I am happy as long as my PC can dota/online gaming hahaha

ok, juz a quick question.
so conclusion, shall i get Biostar or Asrock?
coz now i've got P4 2.4Ghz (not sure Presscot or Northwood).....
aiming to setup HTPC which can run 720p mkv smoothly

my rig also cannot handle certain 720p mkvs with 8000 bitrates or such

its a painful task while my new laptop can.. picture and audio tends to run.. well, using proper codecs is important as well but 720p movies are the dashit

guys, any good colling system to recon for my proc? coz i'm using the stock coller now, and is it wise to cahnge the GPU cooler also ?

nowadays its hard to get s478 HFS dy... maybe go garage thread have a try. if you didnt oc then staying on stock will be no prob unless you cant stand for the sound.
