In air, when we swing our arm hard enough, it will make lower body (i.e. torso) has the tendency to swing upward. If jump smash with leg straight, very often one will have a bad landing, lost stability, balance and poor recovery. To prevent that (bad landing and slow recovery), the player may need to reserve part of his strength during smash.
When the leg is curl, we balance the arm swing with the leg. Hence, he can swing his arm harder without having to worry about bad landing.

QUOTE(ziggy87 @ Jun 1 2010, 09:13 PM) what about string? maybe you should increase it to 27lbs and give it a try they call it the lost child or stg..lol doesnt have the zymax traits i'm not sure but i think it increase the power it's like curl your whole body backwards, and when release the curl towards front, it produces more power Here's a video on smashes, if you dont understand chinese then ill translate it to you haha =p It definitely gives more power because you are using your whole body major muscles and weight, better if you have a head heavier racket to add more mass to the smash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF0zB2Ygz4oCurrently Im using BG66Maxima as my string haha I tried ZM62 but it breaks easily

hey there
im using fleet nano ace racket.. head quite heavy
but every time when receiving serve from opponent, cant put the shuttle in front of net, will tend to miss it or place the shuttle too high,
m i using the correct racket??
my playing style more towards drop shot, not smashing..
