hey there

im using fleet nano ace racket.. head quite heavy

but every time when receiving serve from opponent, cant put the shuttle in front of net, will tend to miss it or place the shuttle too high,

m i using the correct racket??

my playing style more towards drop shot, not smashing..
*
im not a badminton pro, just wanna share my opinion:

yea u can try a lighter racket cuz IMVO and for me, lighter rackets gives me more control

im like u, i dont smash much.

and i love light rackets biggrin.gif

So how if I like to smash and do net play?? keep on run out to change head heavy racket and lighter racket??  hmm.gif
*
if u like net play i suppose u like standing in front for doubles? if yes i would suggest u just use light racket bcuz if u are in front and get the chance to smash it probably will be a 'char siew' and i guess no need a heavy racket to kill it.

Just me 2 cents smile.gif

some say head light rackets provide more control
so Bumbee, u can try to get a head light racket

and still, i don't mean head heavy racket cannot provide control
it still depends on technique
*
juz wanna ask ur opinion, is it right to say that only advanced and expert players with stronger wrist can control the shuttle very well even with a heavy racket?

how to differentiate a fake protech and real protech shoes?
i just bought a protech shoes but i search the model around the net.nth found...is it fake?(should i return to the shop?)

model PTS 995
Color Red
*
IMHO... protech is not a high end brand so normally ppl wont do fake protech...

but however, just to be 100% sure, u can try google for protech distributor in malaysia and check with them. u can also post which shop u buy it from and ask the members here about the credibility of tht shop.

Good luck!

imo, u need technique rather than pure strength

QUOTE(Omage007 @ Jun 12 2010, 11:28 PM)

power is nothing without control. . .  a female pro player can defeat a beginner male player easily although the male player got double the strength then the female player, get what I mean?  but when skill level is around the same then strength is important, as you can notice the level gap between those world class female player and male player. . .  and heavy racket is very subjective, for a strong guy your heavy racket could be not heavy enough for him. . .

thx for all ur replies thumbup.gif

yes i have seen a pro girl player can easily 'tapau' on men recreational player who is considered as very good. from what i observed, the girl pro player movement is very fast, and secondly, looks like her wrist strength is very powerful, tht she dont need any afford at all and can just flick the shuttle high back and far, as well as very sharp drop shots. i cant remember wat racket she was using... but her skill was really impressive! i wonder was she using a very heavy racket?

that girl from where?? if u want to improve the power of ur shot, make sure u grip ur racquet correctly and also use the correct method to transfer energy from wrist to the shuttle.  u can swing tennis racquet to improve ur strength
*
tht girl is from the national team (BAM?) i think. heard tht although she dun play for malaysia, but she trains with the national girls players

is there a way tht u can teach me the correct grip and method to transfer energy from wrist to shuttle? thx alot notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
