guys.. urgently needed help here.
i got the G1 not long ago.. and i've done few time factory reset and had no problem.. but i seem to have a problem now.. i can't login anymore... the 3G sign is not coming out this time.

i'm using Maxis
and setting for the first login at the APN i put
APN : unet
User : maxis
Pass : unet

this work well few time back.. but not anymore... i dunno why..
i even went to change my sim card.. but still the same.. and
i did the Alt+W to reset the phone few times also.. and it's still the same..

any expert here can help me to get out of this problem?

URGENT.
thanks.

This was what i did...

Name: DiGi MMS
APN: digimms
Proxy: not set
Port: not set
Username: mms
Password: mms
Server: not set
MMSC: mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms (also tried http://mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms)
MMS Proxy: 203.92.128.160
MMS port: 80
MCC: 502
MNC: 16
APN type: not set

Added on April 12, 2009, 11:48 amstrange though i still cant send any mms...yet...correct my setting if i'm wrong
*
Your mms setting is same as mine but i don't hv the gprs setting coz i hv wifi available around my area. mayb its clashing with ur gprs settting, so just try to disable ur gprs setting 4 a while n try to send a mms. U can do this by deleting just a letter from ur diginet APN ie: diginet--->digine. If ur mms works then its confirm clashing. I'll try to find a way to make both work.

Ah, i changed it to digine. Finally can send MMS. But that compromises GPRS setting. Oh, so that confirm clashing.

Will use back GPRS setting for now.

Are you able to get EDGE with your current settings?

If do, try to access "phone info" and lock your mode to WCDMA only instead of WCDMA preferred.

Cheers.

I was not aware of the problem coz i didn't use both mms n gprs in my G1 before. i think the prob is because digi have different username n password for mms and gprs. Will try to figure out how to make them both work together.

I learn that Google has released a new version of gmail app for Android and iPhone. Does it mean it is already available or is coming soon? Anyone already got the update or our JF firmware is unable to detect it?

Oh! That "floaty bars"....It's not for the native gmail client, it's for the browser. Think it's using Gear to store some info also.
Try gmail with your android browser ^^;

Have you installed any new apps lately (since yesterday)??

I have no major issue with Maxis lately, just some signal dropped but it came back within few seconds.

Yes! Maxis network problem I suspect. Sometimes the reception is max bars and suddenly it'll go to 2 bars and to a point no service at all. I initially suspect this to the Radio ROM performance which can be buggy. Then I verify this by using my SE C905 for 2 days and I see the same thing on it too.

Anyway the Radio ROM is also the culprit. I realize if I am in a spot where reception quality is so so (2 bars), turning the WIFI on and do a scan will sometimes cause GSM to loose service connection. Bluetooth however does not cause this problem. The reason I say this is because both the WIFI and Bluetooth uses the same radio band of 2.4GHz. They both use the same antenna and alternates between both when WIFI and Bluetooth is activated at the same time (FCC restrictions).

Guys, think we still need to wait bit longer for our official cupcake, since the SDK for cupcake was just beta released last nite so hopefully more and more apps will start working with the 1.5 firmware but until then there's really not a whole lot to be done with them.

Now most of the 1.1 apps in the market are not fully working on my 1.5 Magic rom. I have to compromise on this. cry.gif

Adiós ^^;

Think is about RM2k or less, and you could get it from Lowyat or LYN garage-phone section.
Yes, you may deactivate the 3g/data plan and utilize the WIFI only.
However, bare in mind that it still need 3G/gprs to register the G1 during the inauguration process, after that you may interrupt the data service.

Nope, currently the GPS is attached to the Google Maps. Garmin/TomTom is coming soon. How soon? Don't know ^^)

There are few of the video players in the market, maybe you could check it out yourself Multimedia here laugh.gif

Hope you join the Darkforce soon brows.gif
