Sorry, bit confused here! ^^;
Are you looking at how much memory available(free)? Or want to know how much each apps is taking?
I got those 3 paid apps. If you want to try out, pm me ur gmail ya. cool2.gif

I'm actually looking for the memory (RAM) available after all the programs have been started. This isn't the same as how much each application takes from the ROM. In Windows Mobile term, I want to know the Program Memory as opposed to Program Storage. We already know that the HTC Dream has 192MB of RAM. I would like to know how much is available after a fresh boot and after all the applications have been started.

I'll PM you. tongue.gif

Guys, I have one question.

Remember the Market Place where we can do a search on applications listed over there? All searches will be archived on a history. So in future when you do a search again, it'll actually show a long list of the history of searches made. Any idea how to purge this list?

Ho..ho...if memory serves me right, think the Market info is attached to your gmail account. So as long as u use that particular account, the market will remember you. And the moment we can get rid of the market search history yet.

So my best experimental suggestions are, mind you, quite intrusive heh ^^)

1) Do a factory reset or
2) Do a wipe in recovery mode
3) Change to another gmail account ^^;

Guess I'm fine with it since we have not way to clear it. Its just a little distracting when the list goes very long. Not that it'll eat up a lot of space anyway. biggrin.gif

Just a friendly reminder! The search history will not take up much space, but the Market cache will hor. ^^
As usual, nothing you could do, it will only release/delete the cache when the "low space" indication shows up.

Hopefully next update it will be fixed.

Yeah, I read about that too. So far my Market Place's cache is around 2MB. Still got 60MB+ remaining for applications. Quite a lot considering each app uses a couple of kilobytes with the exception of games where it may go up to few MBs. Hopefully the upcoming update will include ability to clear caches and ability to format SD card to EXT2 filesystem and then install app on it.

I wonder if there's an application that is similar to CCleaner where it can purge all caches (except the ones storing login information) with a single click.

Just switched to EDGE network and forget about 3G hehehehe... very strong signal here. Even with 3G speeds ain't that much of a difference anyway. nod.gif

I do experienced a time where network data access cannot connect at all until I reboot. WIFI has been spot on so far. Really love it! I downloaded a 40MB file and its really quick when compared to my previous Touch Diamond.

Guys!

Happy to say that I have joined you guys as an Android! I've got the black colored one and yes, it has the creaks. But no worries because I've found some solutions which I am going to try in the next few days.

Mine came by default RC30 by JF. So I guess its already rooted in advanced? If this is the case, can I update straight to JF1.42 RC33 without downgrading or I should follow the standard procedures of downgrading.

Anyway I'm so glad!  rclxm9.gif

Bro davidmak, I'm having the creaks issue too with my black G1 sad.gif

Mind to share with us the solution that you were mentioning? notworthy.gif

I use a pair of sharp scissors to cut out a very tiny piece of cellophane tape. Then use the tweezers to place it on the area which emits the creak. There's a small bump above the end key and it functions to prevent the LCD display from slamming too hard onto the body.

The better long term solution is to use a piece of felt cloth or some damping material (not too thick). Alternatively you can use mini 'feet' and stick them directly beneath the LCD display to keep it leveled and prevent it from moving. If it is not moving and supported, it will not grind against the bump and emit creaks.

Just some installation files which is around 6MB. It took only 2 minutes to complete which is quite good for a PDA phone. During my time with the Touch Diamond, it was really slow even though the rest of my PC was idle and the internet connection was fast.

Looks like Symbian (as with most news site reporting) is loosing market share and a lot of new players are catching up. I think Mac OS X Touch and Linux definitely have a good chance in growth.

Guys!

I discover something new. Well not entirely new. But who has customize Caller Picture on their contacts? I realize I can't be taking everyone's photo and include it here. So I thought about using Xbox Live Avatar pictures. Turns out it matches Android so much! Hehehehe!

Same here, I haven't really tweak the OS much yet (if any) and I'm trying to find a way for the pictures to stick in my Gmail account. I can add them on Gmail but they won't show. However, when I sync my contacts to the G1 the pictures show in my G1 contacts. Just not on Gmail contacts. Wonder why...

I tried GPS yesterday and I find it to be moderately quick in catching positioning satellites. If I enable Data Access, it'll be quicker. Probably A-GPS is working behind the scene (by downloading satellite data off the net). Accuracy was initially at 24m but soon reception became stronger and accuracy was improved to 8m which was quite ok. However, Google Maps sucks because the Directions was real messy.

Wonder when companies like Garmin will unveil their products on Android.
