I use a pair of sharp scissors to cut out a very tiny piece of cellophane tape. Then use the tweezers to place it on the area which emits the creak. There's a small bump above the end key and it functions to prevent the LCD display from slamming too hard onto the body.

The better long term solution is to use a piece of felt cloth or some damping material (not too thick). Alternatively you can use mini 'feet' and stick them directly beneath the LCD display to keep it leveled and prevent it from moving. If it is not moving and supported, it will not grind against the bump and emit creaks.

Thanks for the tips bro. Mine creaks less now, can say 80% improvement thumbup.gif

Gonna try n find a way to achieve the other 20% now. Perhaps I can stick some sort of tape on that part to give it more cushion smile.gif

Yeah, it definitely need some damping material to reduce the impact force when the LCD display is shut and then slam to the main body. In fact, a lot of phones with sliding mechanism or flipping mechanism as well as laptop displays have damping material (either externally or internally) to reduce impact force. I'm trying to find a way to produce such a damping material small enough to be slit into the mechanism while not too thick to affect sliding performance.

Bro davidmak, just wondering are you on celcom? If you are, mind to share the settings for APN? I'm still unable to browse youtube, for some reason after opening youtube for 30-40 seconds, an error came out saying there's no network connection (even though my network and 3G connection is full bar)

This only happens in youtube though..

Ha..Ha... not really a lie lah !! It just not an update but come out as new firmware (better than update leh) ^^;

The cupcake was a development branch of the Android software and has been merged into the main codebase of the Android OS by now. All the new Android phones that come out should have these Cupcake features from day 1 as they are using the latest codebase (version 1.5?). There are developers reporting having prototype of 1.5 edy.

I believe the Magic will have this Cupcake-features firmware when HTC launches it in April.

So no worries, pretty sure google will give this cupcake to us! Hopefully tongue.gif

Ya-reh...ya-reh! Welcome to the Darkside ^^;

Yep, RC33 is for the public and ADP1.1 is more to the developer liking ^^
One of the distinctive feature in ADP is it able to restart the apps automatically after crashes.

Are you on JF1.42 or JF1.43?

Thanks for sharing but most of us already have this radio version. But its good to put the link for new comers. I guess we should start a sticky on how to upload new firmware/software into the phone.

By the way what do you mean by stripped down in IM? I think those applications are considered mobile version so we're limited to chat and other features 'stripped' like file transfer, video call, voice call, etc. If you're looking for near full bloom versions of these IM, perhaps Windows Mobile will offer you these. icon_idea.gif

Ha..ha.. you discovered another 'feature' for our ADP ^^.

But I believe even you have RC33, you will not be able to use them (besides gtalk) over 3G access. It's only can be used over the WIFI.

Unless you have have rooted JF RC33 + DroidSans Tweak tools 0.87 installed then you may unlock the MSN mesenger, and it's only work for MSN only blink.gif

Ngeh! There are not true "open source" OS, all about commercialization. If not google will not patch the root access for all the G1 and later market the paid version of ADP with root access ^^;

Tried the Hello Yahoo before, but still loving Meebo more tongue.gif It's getting more and more stable nowadays.
