QUOTE(grazy @ May 13 2009, 06:45 PM)
Hmmm.... yesterday the line was bad, hogging 3G and wifey can't MMS either, so called Maxis and find out they are upgrading their 3G services in my area. Quite happy about it.

But after today afternoon heavy rain, my droid can't sent out SMS (can receive though), I have full bar 3G signal and able to surf, check the Market and tether. The 3G speed is *feeling* much faster now maybe Maxis done their upgrading or just placebo but the 3G signal looks stronger.  blush.gif

Problem: I still can't SMS out, i can receive & send MMS, surf net with 3G/EDGE, receive SMS but just can't send out SMS.

So in case you have this problem try this:

Download Anycut --> shortcut to ' phone info" --> open up the shortcut --> go down to SMSC --> key in "the centre code" --> click update

Maxis SMSC is +60120000015.

Actually this SMSC should by default read it from the simcard, but somehow I don't know whether Maxis changed it during the upgrade or due to my complaint they reset the account.

However hope this helped somebody at least. Cheers. ^^;

The biggest advantage that i see after doing the radio update on cupcake is the improvement of my battery life. After I upgraded to cupcake even the extended battery was draining out fast but now i think it ok;ie- i dont wake up in the morning n see my battery almost finish although having full bar the previous night. biggrin.gif

Anyone else feels that their wifi strength is weaker after updating to cupcake and the radio update?

I get this with all my usual wifi spots.

I feel its harder to connect and the number of bars i get when connected has drop. At times can't surf and can't enter market.

What's rom or radio u using now??

Interesting, mine with JF1.5 and .26I radio got no sluggish on WIFI internet browsing. In fact, even smoother though.

Try to disenggage the WIFI sleep policy in the Wireless --> Wifi --> Menu --> Advanced --> WIFI sleep policy.

Remember to reboot after this.

Hope it helps..... ^^

I was comparing the cupcake b4 and after the radio update. On cupcake together with radio update draining more battery than RC33; i think there is no noticeable difference. sweat.gif

You will have to delete your mms apn setting or else your diginet and digimms apn will clash and you can't connect to net. Been trying to solve this prob for quite some time and even the people at the digicentre cant figure out how to get both working.

Guys I have finally found out how to get both the net and mms working for Digi user. I stumbled upon a simple setting information that will make both the diginet and digimms apn work without clashing. So here is the setting to follow:

First set up/modify the apn for diginet:
Name. : Digi
APN : diginet
MCC : 502
MNC : 16
APN type : default ( This is the one we have been missing)
* Leave all other field blank

Now create a new apn and for Digi MMS:
Name. : Digi MMS
APN : digimms
username : mms
password : mms
MMSC : http://mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms
MMS proxy : 203.92.128.160
MMS port : 80
MCC : 502
MNC : 16
APN type : mms ( Again we left this field empty last time )
* Leave all other field empty

Now save the setting and restart the G1, should be able to surf the net and send and receive mms. biggrin.gif

Yo, i want to get to the cupcake wagon. Any good tutorial sites to do so?

Anyway, I'm kinda confused on checking the my phone info. Basedband version 62.33.20.08H_1.22.14.11. Kernel version 2.6.25-01843-gfea26b0 jesusfreke@AndroidDev #1. Build number holiday_devphone-userdebug 1.1 UNLOCKED 130444 test-keys.

What does it mean? I dont want to proceed w/o knowing anything & then screw up at the end

Added on May 16, 2009, 7:22 pmfor crying out loud, there's so many things to install just to update the firmware. Can anyone help me to install? blush.gif
