anybody know how to root?
i tried many times.
but my version is stg rc8.
i have problems downgrading to rc7.
followed everything but then i get error 0028000 NOT ALLOWED.
anybody can help? does the shop in lowyat plaza provide downgrading services for android like for iphone?

Follow the guide step by step and key in the commands exactly as shown in the video. Don't follow the written guide in the guys website coz its a bit mixed up. If you want to update to cupcake and don't want to go through the same process again, then just download and install jfupdater from market and update to cupcake. Hope this helps.

Ok, the official Cupcake OTA has arrived, if those who don't want to wake anymore longer from the google push can actually download the update file and get your G1 mutated manually.

You may find the file(signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip) over here : Cupcake downloand, look for Cupcake 1.5 under T-Mobile OTA.

The procedure to update (for unrooted only) user: update with OTA files
For those rooted user, guess we will wait for JF to mod it first....

PS: Dun blame me if you brick your phone during the procedure hor!! , and make sure the batt is above 70% when proceed with the update.

I though JF already released cupcake. Is there another modded version coming. correct me if i'm wrong.

^^) There are two version of cupcake available, OTA from T-mobile/Google and HTC 1.5 for ADP.
The current available one from JF is a mods from HTC 1.5 ADP (I'm believe we are using this one currently), quite a number of features being taken away compared to OTA such as IM and myfaves,.

Personally I like the ADP1.5 as it more "clean" than OTA he..he...

Ic, sorry my bad. Hope don't have wait long to test out JF's 'new' cupcake. For those who patiently waited for official cupcake update can rejoice now; hehe

This version has been blessingly JF-ed according to his blog.

i find it very hard to use the on screen keyboard...on the edge. letter p and q.
and Accelerometer-based application rotations does not apply to the home screen + a bit slow during transitions
but i still like it~!

Guys, my JF updater shows three different cupcake 1.51 : Cupcake ADP1, Cupcake US, Cupcake UK. Are there any difference among these three or are they all the same. Also do i have to do the radio update again for the new cupcake. Thnks for your inputs.

No worries... there are the same, urs version could be the leaked official OTA.

ADP is based on HTC OTA, US is based on T-mobile OTA (got myfaves inside etc), UK is basically the same as US (but no myfaves), and the dialed number in the dialer got no "dash"...EU style.

And nope, you don't need to update the radio again as long as you got the latest.
