that's nokia s60 v5 bug liao. Worst still... Garmin stop gmxt liao! No future fix anymore

oops meaning no bugfixes sigh..... even the .60 version also got this bug?

So far only the touch screen S60 V5 having this bug..meaning N97, & future X6 probably facing the same problem
BTW, forgotten to tell you, if u try to browse maps ...it will hang too if u drag to fast & zoom to in & fast...

Those using older S60 V3 & even N86 excape these bugs

the 5800xm is a stupid phone to start off with.
and it will end as that, a stupid gps phone which hangs each time u try to enter a "/"

which address is pj no "/" lol. time to get yourself a true N series nokia.

stimix say N97 also cannot escape this bug how ah? actually there is a workaround for the / thing but just that the other day I type in PJU 5/3 the GPS cannot find this location sigh..... in the end i used the point of interest 7-11 and it shows PJU 5/3

Wel I just agak-agak only bcos N97 is also touch screen & S60 R5..I personally hv not tested this phone yet...To do address search, instead of typing '/", just try PJU 5 or PJU5 can dy...thereafter just scroll to the correct address..That's the only way to escape the GMXT bugs....Screen heang kei during browsing...haizzz no solution...

Oh the screen hang during browsing is when we check the maps right? I got hang once. As for address hard to type.... but can use the 1 button right? it can function

mikeeee asked me to upgrade to garmin taiwanese version .60 he said there is less hanging in this version and i follow his advise, now really less hang, try it.

I am using 5.05 its ok too no hang except the symbol bug

Well I tested the V5.06 Taiwanese version as well...Still hang kei lah...

@Aspire, try to zoom-in fast-fast or drag fast-fast b4 the "drawing" thigy disaapear..sure hang kei wan

for me when zoom in - out fast fast it wont freeze no matter what, try fast fast fast zoom in out also wont hang, it only hangs when draging.

so i tend to use zooming to change location instead of dragging, abit slow still better than freezing.

version 5.03 and 5.04 always hang. After change to 5.05 is ok edi.

I know u zoom the map then u use cursor to move left and right entire garmin hang.

hmmm currently on V5.05 leh..still hang,,unless u using lite version of MFM?

I just showed the problem to everyone at y'day MFM Melaka GG...So most of them goyang kepala liao...including one of the nastier MFM moderator & joker....He tell me to throw away this machine liao..haizzz

Haha yea i am using the lite version. No worries i look forward for Nokia N900 hope they come out a good GPS software

Added on November 22, 2009, 1:55 pmI also got annoy of the Map ID. Need to register need to post la tis and tat then the map somemore update so slow. Lucky MFM came out make it less hassle for everyone.

if i deselect polygons, topo, east malaysia map, brunei and singapore, the end map would be much smaller in size, would it increase the performance? thx

Aspire tried liao using the lite version. No hang kei..so performance should be good..

i have been using lite version all the way, still hang. lite version is only without polygons, if i deselect polygons, topo, east malaysia map, brunei and singapore that would be much much smaller than lite version.

since this is page 69 i wan say that all your 5800xm no matter wat do u also will 69. so pls take throw inside dustbin and buy proper gps phone like N series which now is cheap cheap. end of story.

the newer n series no nid lite no nid uncheck polygon. no nid all these mafan mafan thing. so mafan for wat ? like 69 oni.
