when i come near redlight, i only got a small warning box, no need to press OK or CANCEL.
how about u try disable "attention tone" under "audio" settings?
*
i used to have that small warning box without confirmation dialog box, dunno why it suddenly changed, i cant find any setting to disable it.

the attention tone has always been disabled.

thanks.

very strange thing happen to my 5800 garmin mobile xt, i used to have thailand map installed and saved several locations in thailand, but recently garmin not able to calculate route due to "not enough memory error", then i deleted thailand map and surprisingly without thailand map in garmin folder, garmin can still display thailand map wtf.

i went to browse map and i can see thailand map, can search thailand poi somemore, what the hell is happening?

thanks.

btw i use mfm, could it be that mfm includes thai map as well?

This is a normal thing for all garmin phones. Because the only way the gps know which direction u are going is when ure moving not stand still. I dont see a problem for this. It only happen when u stop. When ure moving it will be on track again.

Well I tested the V5.06 Taiwanese version as well...Still hang kei lah...

@Aspire, try to zoom-in fast-fast or drag fast-fast b4 the  "drawing" thigy disaapear..sure hang kei wan  biggrin.gif
*
for me when zoom in - out fast fast it wont freeze no matter what, try fast fast fast zoom in out also wont hang, it only hangs when draging.

so i tend to use zooming to change location instead of dragging, abit slow still better than freezing.

i have been using lite version all the way, still hang. lite version is only without polygons, if i deselect polygons, topo, east malaysia map, brunei and singapore that would be much much smaller than lite version.

Thanks for feedback.
Just heard from friend that AGPS involves no charges. He proved it by taking out sim card and using phone agps. Same satellite detection time as with sim card in phone. Strange.
*
i will test it out. but i dont think it is possible

hey guys, need a little advice here. I am planning to get a GPS, some Garmin Nuvi (dunno wat model yet), but a friend of mine suggested that I get a handphone with GPS capabilities. Cant make up my mind, would a phone with GPS function as well as a Garmin Nuvi? For phone, Im considering Nokia e73.

any charges for using a phone GPS? (sorry if im asking nooby questions)

thank you all.
*
i think garmin nuvi is better, for phone we use garmin mobile xt which has been discontinued so no lane assist and junction view feature, nuvi has these useful feature.

driving in kl without lane assist is difficult.
