And can i know the basics of firmware and hardware for Iphone 3g??

since your iphone is locked. i think you should unlocked it first, so you can make a call using Malaysian Telco.

Anyway make sure read clearly on how to unlock your iphone, if you want to use yellowsnow you ave to check ur phone firmware etc, trust me after some reading you will understanding much better on how to unlock it,

PLEASE make sure to read clearly and dont update anything before fully reading it, if you want to use yellowsnow make sure not to update to 2.2.1 directly ect, if not you will need to use turbo/rebel sim to do that.

p/s: all the guide there is easy to understand, if you dont know the term unlock jailbreak, what need to be done etc please google because uncle google knows everything about it.

i'll make it simple for u
1. if u got ur iphone from usa or any other countries whr thr lock the carrier to the phone, tat means u will not be able to use da iphone with other country sim card. tat is ur case now...locked carrier...
2. since it is locked, thr r to ways 2 unlock it...
a. use turbo sim/ rebel sim aka hardware unlock. but tis method is not safe.
b. use yellowsnow. tis is da most easiest n safest way 2 unlock ur iphone. u shud use tis
3. to use yellowsnow, u must jailbreak ur iphone. use tis guide. however, u must make sure u r not on firmware 2.2.1 to unlock. to check tis, go to settings, general, about n see ur version.
4. if u r on 2.0.x, 2.1.x, 2.2.x, follow da want to unlock method...
5. if u r on 2.2.1 already, then
a. wait for update from dev team
b. use da hardware unlock
6. read tis thread over n over again

Yes..there is currently a few users have jailbreak thier iPhone. Shouldn't be a problem jailbreaking as long you follow the guide provided carefully.

guys i have already updated my singte iphone to the latest firmware 2.2.1..so do i straight away run quickpwn or i need to do their restore? since i'm already on 2.2.1

just straight quickpwn will do, because you already on 2.2.1..
