I am running out of space for my JB partition.. It prompt out the waring message..SBsetting show HDD free space left for 15MB.. How to increase the default 500MB JB storage space without loosing or the need of redo the JB process? I use Quickpwn to JB previously..Tq...

You can use BossTool to gain some extra HD but is not much.

It seems like Quickpwn does not allow to increase the root partition. The other option is to use Pwnagetool via a Mac to increase your root partition to 700MB or your choice of size.

now i solve the problem for make and receive, but the funny thing happened...

when i make and receive call, must use headphone.. otherwise will straight away lost all signal and appear "call failed".
eg. after make or receive call (plugging headphone), on the conversation, then i pull out the headphone, straight away "call failed" and lost all signal..

when make call, it can be done when i pressed "call" and immediately pressed "speaker" and turn on loud speaker..

what happen is that? pls help~~

I wish i can help you out mate but i guess you gotta use the solutions that you found to make/receive calls for the meantime. This are the problems you will face when it comes to using sim unlocker.

Another solution is to find a replacement of the rebel sim that works better like some forumers did in the thread provided. heas over to garagesale forum and use the search to search for sellers who sells rebel sim.

Hi, I got 3G iPhone from Maxis. Can I jailbreak it? Any problem?

In a word...No!

You mean no problem or cannot jailbreak?

I just tried to jailbreak my iPhone 3G from Maxis (firmware 2.2.1) with QuickPwn-225-2 following these instructions from iClarified but was ultimately unable to make calls due to no telco signal was shown on the top left corner of the screen. Thinking it was because of the jailbreak, I resorted to:

1. Hard-reset (holding down both Home+Power for 10 secs). Result = no improvement.

2. Restoring my phone from iTunes backup. Result = no improvement.

3. Switching to DFU mode. Unplugged from PC, hold down Home+Power for 3 secs, slide to shutdown the phone. Then while holding Home, plug the device back into PC and iTunes automatically startup. It then downloaded latest firmware (2.2.1) by itself and updated the phone (you may need to unplug and plug back the phone once download has finished) and flash back to default state (everything will be wiped out and back to normal). And then it did something which it didn't do before, it displayed the message 'An update to the carrier settings for your iPhone is available. Would you like to download it now?'. And I clicked Yes. After that, it detected the phone as a new phone and gave me 2 options (1. Install as new phone, 2. Restore from backup). I chose 'Restore from backup'. Once that is done, everything was back to normal. Result = got back maxis signal.

Semi-conclusion: (Not yet tested)
I believe you can jailbreak the phone except you need to have your carrier settings already located in your iTunes folder BEFORE you start the jailbreak. Download the maxis carrier settings Maxis_my.ipcc and put the file in your iTunes folder located in:


^ for this folder path above, replace <username> with your username and is applicable to Windows XP.

Hopefully you will be more successful than I was

I will try this again next week, can't have the phone not working during this weekend.

Scary.....so better don't jailbreak?

How come other people's 2.2.1 3G can jailbreak? Maybe because they using rebel sim, so the signal works fine.

i jailbreak it using the tutorial at here... quickpawn (pineapple)

if it's a locked set, inserting the sim card lone without Rebel/Turbo sim will definitely won't work.

my suggestion is getting yourself other Rebel sim to test it out. the Rebel sim might be the culprit.
