errrr idont know which generation is it but i can tell it is white colour and 16gb from uk

White colour and it's from UK. It's iPhone 3G and it's a locked set. U must use yellowsn0w to unlock it. How to use yellowsn0w, there's a thread discussing about it. It's a simple process.

That's an iPhone 3G (if not mistaken white iphones are 3G version).

But yours is definitely need to be unlock.
Download "yellowsn0w 0.9.6" from Cydia.
Install and reboot.
That's enough to get the signal.
With the condition you have upgraded to firmware 2.2.

it's from us.i hv upgrade to 2.2 from itunes,and after process the Quickpwn22-1,
the screen keep appear apple icon and i can't even switch it off also
