I test my 2nd batch 4850GS fan speed which suppose to be auto at min 50% and will only increase once it is heat up. However, after many test it still cannot go beyond 50%. Tested on:

- 3dmark vantage
- Furmark
- Games (Crysis, etc)

Is it the auto speed fixed at 50%? So weird.

omg 4850x2 so tempting mayb need to sell my 4870 and get that monster sifus out here do ya all think i should replace my 4870 wit a 4850x2 will it improve performance significantly and as i know need a powerfull cpu as the 2 cores will eat up more cpu cycles.

c'mon, even if u buy another pc wit 4870x2 OC & qx9650 OC, it won't increase as much as 100 bucks.

RM100 increase is too much lah.

I'm not going to put a 3rd party fan on my 4850 until my warranty is up, can't risk it at this point.

btw, is the fan easy to install? i have the sapphire 4850 -- do i just need to take out some screws?

hhmm... guess i will have to buy a DMM.

sorry coolice, i'm kinda new in hard modding. just wanna ask, if use DMM, do we measure the voltage/resistance while the card is running or off?

by the way, any good DMM to recommend for measuring voltage/resistance thanks

just RM20 DMM will do
u don have to run it to measure resistance but voltage yes

Anyone using the far cry 2 hotfix driver? I dont know why my crysis warhead is so unplayable and gamer setting. Choking all the time. My processor is e8400 @ 4ghz, hd4850 and 2gb ram. My OS is vista ultimate x64.

Haha, downloading last piece of rar for FC2... oops finished finally.

I got the same problem last time until I update the driver from 8.6 to 8.10. Damn smooth right now but unfortunately it will always BSOD when exiting the game, though. BTW, Warhead is much better with 4GB RAM.

Now i am using 8.10 hotfix driver. Just dont know y it choking like no hell man.. Anyone with Far Cry 2 hotfix playing warhead plz let me know how it is..

Uninstall the FC2 hotfix and try again and see. I heard the hotfix is not stable.
