Far Cry 2's requirement is lower than Crysis
i think even HD4670 can run smoothly

walao..i think FC2 dont need high end card to play it.
its engine is far more better than CryEngine, but of coz la CryEngine produces better graphics.
4850 suits just fine.

think again b4 installing the far cry 2 hotfix.
there is some report on the hotfix being buggy result in missing texture & transparent rock.
in short, it sacrifice IQ for FPS.

Damn, no luck running crysis warhead. Choking like no hell at gamer setting. I guess its either my hdd or not enuf ram. Wat i saw is HDD keep on loading, and i think my hdd near spoilt, the loading sound is quite loud. Dunno wan get 4gb ram or 1 new hdd... arrgh..

Added on October 29, 2008, 1:00 amBut i run far cry 2 it works like charm.. only crysis warhead. My hypothesis is becos not enuf ram, it use the pagefile, and my hdd is damn slow and got bit prob, so pagefile is slow, thus stutter and choke here and there.

i tested my crysis warhead also just now.
i loaded my previous save game. 2 my surprise, the graphic looks ugly, looks like setting has & resolution has been tune down 2 minimum level & also frame rate is chocking.
but i cut go 2 the setting option, reset all the graphic setting, go bck in2 the game & everything is ok bck wit smooth frame rate..........

meaning ur using the standard settings the games select for ur pc hardware performance,i had to oc my x2 from 2.6ghz all the way to 3.2ghz and my 4870 core clock to 795mhz and 1195mhz for the ram,then only can get around 35fps-40fps avg at enthusiast settings n my resolution at 1400x900 and of course no AA la n why izit when i play farcry2 using DX10 i fell the frame rate not so smooth?

I think becos ur amd is not powerful enuf. Bottlenecking ur 4870 edi la.. Far cry 2 not smooth? Is it stuttering? I think its normal. Try gfx_maxfps 30 or 40. It sets ur max fps to 30 or ur liking. It will be less stuttering but only at 30fps lo. But 30fps CONSTANTLY and no up or down is considered good edi.

lol..gamer setting?u mean warhead? i tried the ori crysis on high setting..that also is not very high...ad not really smooth for me...looking for 60fps or more..haha...

how's ur Colorful 4850 perform??

You PC spec should let u play at Very high setting.

hey people. when is the sapphire 4870 toxic edition coming 2 town? now my pocket itchy and going 2 bocor bigger soon.

set the detail 2 medium with no AA. confirm can hit more than 60 fps instantly.

i think so.
i put gamers setting on 1280*1024 resolution wut 4xAA, as my spec on my siggy. everything is as smooth as butter.
but wen i leave my q6600 @ stock speed, i can feel chocking a bit.

Dunno y now like better edi. I tried to delete the cache file, then use optimal setting then switch to gamer setting. At least the choke is bearable and still quite playable. Very few loading. I think i might get 4gb ram asap.

just normal cheppo RAM.
i bought from Viewnet, add 5 bucks got 1 year 1 to 1 exchange.

actually i wanted mushkin RAM.........den dun hav............settle for cheppo kingmax.......................i hate kingston....

as i know that,512mb frame buffer on the 4870 not enuf as i push AA on crysis warhead my hard drive always reading.Need 1gb of frame buffer.

i wonder my 6000+ with 4870 gs in 1440 x 900 got how many framerate...

But not bad le.. can oc until so high. Better than my kingston. I need to oc until 450mhz fsb then enuf edi ma. Cant upgrade gfx card, PSU not enuf juice for 4850x2 or 4870 lolz.. Have to wait for 5 series next year. Start saving now
