Incase if anyone is wondering how this laptop performs in gaming here are some of my benchmarks. All using ingame FPS measurement
My specs: CQ-40 401AX » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Warcraft III (Smooth and fast) Very smooth, no problems at all. Call of Duty 4 (Stutters at resolutions above 1024x768) With AA disabled, resolution at 1024x768, low dynamic lights, no specular map, no depth of field and no glow. 15-30fps outdoors at large map and 50fps+ indoors. Call of Duty 5 (Stutters even at 800x600) The single player side of COD5 torments the 401AX, even at 800x600, it only can reach around 20fps max. Its probably due to the massive lighting effects on screen. If you disable all the dynamic lights and lower the texture it will be playable around 30fps. But it will look hell ugly. All games running at default catalyst 8.5 driver provided at HP website. If you guys have any newer drivers or modded one with MobilityModder please send me the link, because mine ain't working. Will post more games soon! |
