QUOTE(vincentyiam @ Sep 28 2008, 07:14 AM) This Hybrid function should be available soon.......as the current driver can't support it yet. WAH!! The Chipset is confirm a 780 series.......it is also a true PUMA Platform series...... But, lower spec than the ULTRA series. This is confirm by my friend who work in AMD. In fact, just got a unit on friday........works great..... better than my previous Dell Inspiron 1410 and Vostro 1400. (my friend from Dell, call it HELL) it is not that i doubt your statement, but i amazed with it and hoping that your statement is true as i just booked this lappy just now. |

guyz, i found this one website listing the Windows Experience Index for almost ALL PC system. one laptop using Ati Mobility Radeon 3400 series(i believe it is 3450 as 3470 has its own category) scores 4.6. all CQ 40 users here obtained 4.0 rite? i think this lappy using updated driver to get higher rating.
http://minpaso.goga.co.jp/pc.php?id=12059 Added on September 28, 2008, 5:00 pmfound link to ATI 3400 series driver but for lenovo laptop. anyone mind trying as the driver given in HP website is for 3200 series rite? http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss...ocid=MIGR-70367 This post has been edited by iq_myst: Sep 28 2008, 05:00 PM |

QUOTE(lordskarn @ Oct 7 2008, 12:42 AM) I installed vista 5 times in about 3 hours in the beginning, and it all went out fast and smooth. wah! 30 minutes - 1 hour? never tried yet. but ive waited nearly 30 minutes one time and i restart as i never had any vista installation more than 20 minutes. but ill try to run the installation as long as i can. thanks for the advise Did you try and just let the installation run for a very long time (30 minutes - 1 hour) and see if it completes the installation? If still not working, and if your Vista is retail, you can give a ring to Microsoft who will guide you on getting the installation done, it's toll free and you wont be charged for an installation issue for a newly purchased product. Microsoft Malaysia Customer Service & Support Careline For Domestic Call: 1800 88 6295 Hours of Operation: 8.30am – 7.00pm (Mon-Fri); 10.00am – 2.00pm(Sat) If it's OEM, you can still try your luck, since MS wont be able to check your PID (it's not installed yet) and unable to determine whether its retail or OEM. Good luck! |

QUOTE(shady @ Oct 8 2008, 02:50 PM) How bout the noise? Is it the same? noise level decrease. very quite in fact. i used it in library just now and feels that the lappy is very quiet. almost no noise at all.Added on October 8, 2008, 7:19 pm QUOTE(shady @ Oct 8 2008, 02:50 PM) How bout the noise? Is it the same? As far as i know, vista 32 bit sp1 will show until 4GB. but the 'usable' amount of ram by the windows itself is less than that..Which driver? Can you list them out? Btw, for those using 4GB RAM and Vista 32bit can you report the amount of RAM usable? eg 3.25GB or 3.5GB This post has been edited by iq_myst: Oct 8 2008, 07:19 PM |

QUOTE(shady @ Oct 9 2008, 11:04 AM) What resolution u r using? I tried FIFA 09 at highest resolution and medium settings. Playable but a bit laggy. I think need to lower down settings and resolution. I prefer to play games at native LCD resolution though. i played FIFA 09 at 800x600 with highest settig. everything seems fine. i tried highest resolution and as you said, it's a bit laggy.. |

QUOTE(shady @ Oct 9 2008, 04:16 PM) You can find in HP Malaysia's online store. Yup, HK version comes with Turion X2 Ultra and WIFI n. Honestly, the performance difference between Turion X2 RM-70 2.0Ghz and Ultra ZM-80 2.1Ghz is less than 10% even with double amount of cache. AMD CPUs dont need big cache because of integrated memory controller. The architecture is old so in terms of performance and power efficiency, even the first gen of Core 2 Duo smacks Turion Ultra. yeah, youre absolutely correct. because from the comparison list of mobile processor, RM-70 ranks 65 while ZM-80 ranks ranks 63. not so much difference. and according to Windows Experience Index, RM-70 got 4.8 while ZM-82 got 5.0.. |

QUOTE(shady @ Oct 9 2008, 07:54 PM) I just got my first 2GB DDR2 800 stick. Put it in and mix with my 1GB DDR2 667. Tried some benchmarks, and the scores are pretty much same like 2x2GB DDR2 667. yeah. the 1GB DDR2 667 stick limits the capabilities of the other 800mhz stick. thats why the result is about the same with original one..After that, I removed the 1GB DDR2 667 stick. With single 2GB DDR2 800 stick, the system boots faster and feel more responsive. Tried benchmarks and its faster than DDR2 667 especially in latency. Cant wait for my 2nd 2GB stick tomorrow. HP did the wrong choice. Should have bundled the system with DDR2 800 sticks. I will post some benchmarks if I'm free tomorrow. |
