Frankly, if you're going to get a 4850 GS or a higher powered card. Stay away from Huntkey V-Power 550W. It will make pitch noise according to the FPS. Very very irritating. I tried with a Silverstone ST50F and there's no noise at all.
This Huntkey V-Power is definately not true power. 550W is the peak. I can't find the review for it... but the 80% efficieny is only at 200w or so if I'm not mistaken and it drops down to 70% at max.

QUOTE Since power to the card is only delivered via the PCI-Express interconnect, the power circuitry isn't particularly extravagant. There are just two chokes and four PWMs powering the GPU and a single choke with two PWMs powering the DDR3 memory; yes, that's DDR3 memory and not GDDR3 – AMD said that the former proved to be more cost-effective than the latter and it looks like we could be seeing this combination a lot more in the future on low-cost boards if my interpretation of the discussions I had with AMD are correct. Source bit-tech.netMy question is does Gainward use DDR3 or GDDR3 for the 4000 series ATI and their 9000 series NVIDIA graphic card? I have check Gainward website and they only stated either DDR3 for most of the card and DDR5 for the 4870 card. Hopefully NetRaid can answer this question.

Guys, question here. Can i drop in another 4850 and run it on CF with my DFI P965-S motherboard? It has 2 pci-e slot, but one is 16x and the other is 8x. Will the 8x bottleneck the other card? my specs are as follow: acbel 500W C2D E6600 @ 3.4ghz 4gb DDR2 2x 250GB HDD 2 DVD-RW I think i need to upgrade my psu first before i can drop in the 2nd card rite? Guess i'll just wait till price for 4850 drops.

Blackscreen problem, is it because of the VPU crashing and then reset by the driver so the screen comes back on?

^ Nop... Normal 4850 with Golden Sample fan. I guess my first unit was a faulty one, so its hardware problem, not driver causing blackscreen.

Upgrading PSU is for sure Bottleneck you wouldn't need to worry much 8x is fair enough. http://en.expreview.com/2008/07/14/amd-tal...gh-for-hd-4800/This post has been edited by TerryZeroX: Sep 15 2008, 12:33 AM
