The Panny 37LZ800 is in a price-class of it's own compared to the other 2. It's Full HD with Panny's best IPS-Alpha panel. Obviously, it is by far better than the other 2 budget LCD TVs. Sure you didn't mean the "LX800"?

If you're only going to get a HD Ready LCD, you might as well add a few hundred bucks and get a 42" Panasonic PV8 plasma.

^ 50" Full HD is still >RM10K.  biggrin.gif

Edit : Hmm... maybe not.
*
50" Full HD PY800 only around RM 9k (can get less than that if you got jalan). If you calculate screen size, it's worth it. I almost bought a 46" Samsung A650 LCD which is around RM 8k.

Don't go by room size. Size of the TV depends on your viewing distance. Tell us so we can help. Also, type of TV (LCD/Plasma) depends on what you are viewing most often: is it Astro, DVDs, Blu-Ray, PS3, PC, etc?

The more info you can give us, the better our recommendations will suit your need.

10ft means minimum 42". 37" is too small at that distance. Even 50" will look okay at 10ft. Astro, DVDs, TV will look best on Plasma. Plasma's are a little iffy on the PC part though (cause of burn-in issues with extended PC usage).

If you're going to use more than 2 hours of PC at a stretch, then go with LCD. I'd say, Sharp for PC, Panny for upscaled DVD, and LG60 (Scarlet) or Toshiba for Astro, DVD, TV.

True. But that also means the LCD you buy now doesn't have those technology yet. While Plasma's already look good.

I think for u.........go for the Panny Full HD 50". I am in a similar sitting position using it for BD & DVD mostly 'action' movie & some movie got dark scene ( as in horror movie ). Fast action & dark scene is not suitable for LCD got blurring effect & cannot show the dark part. Poke in to my 'review' on plasma ( it is in my signature ). tongue.gif
Just my 2 cents worth! biggrin.gif Have a nice day!

^ The only complain that I have of Plasmas are the screen "flickers". If u compare a LCD and Plasma side by side showing the same content, you'll notice that Plasmas have a slight screen flicker. I don't know if "flicker" is the right word..the best analogy that I can think of is this.. On a CRT monitor, set the refresh rate to 60Hz and compared it to a refresh rate of 85Hz.

Some of my friends don't notice it but I definitely do. The worst I've seen are Hitachi Plasmas. Samsung's seems to flicker the least.

Get a plasma with at least 100Hz sure it will not flicker! smile.gif
