the unit was displayed for 5 days only at the road show but it doesnt mean that not being displayed before in the outlet.

well, that's what they told me during the purchase. he explained that panasonic always open up new unit for any road show and then clear the unit at discounted price...they won't allow any display unit from the best denki outlet to be displayed at panasonic road show...so i trusted him....

Why be conservative with the usage. You buy it to enjoy.

I switch it on at least 6 hours a day. Otherwise it wouldn't justify the 100,000 hours panel life time claim smile.gif Also I think the fans are there to do it job.

I agree with you, must use it kao kao....especially under warranty period, if anything goes wrong, can repair without any cost ma....after 5 years, there is a good possibility of changing to a better plasma tv...hehe icon_idea.gif

Are you guys pretty sure that 42PV8H does not equip with fans??

I prefer no fans installed for 2 resons:

1) It shows ur tv is not generating enough heat hence less power consumption.
2) Fans have much shorter life span.

Yup, no fan in my panny. But can feel the heat when you stay near to it.

If you're only going to get a HD Ready LCD, you might as well add a few hundred bucks and get a 42" Panasonic PV8 plasma.

True enough....PQ of the PV8 is far better than my Sammy 37" LCD tv that I have.
