Back from Bandung about a week ago - was there for 9 days.
Why 9 days - to got 0 fare (return)
Stayed at Orange Homes - liked the place, clean and quiet thumbup.gif
Comes with free water (hot/cold) / free wifi - get the password from reception / internet, can use their phone to order fast food (at reception)
BTC - shopping complex walking distance from hotel.

Learnt to take angkot - to Pasar Baru about 2,000 to 4,000 depending on one that goes direct or connect to another one.
Easy to use angkot, just tell drivers your destination and they'll take you or direct you to want and even help to connect to another angkot going the right way. rclxm9.gif

Visited Tangkuban, Kawah Domas, Kawah Putih and Situ Patengan

Cheapest place to shop is the Pasar Baru. rclxms.gif
Plenty of choices - be it clothes (shirt, blouse, jeans, batik) or textile.
Good quality cotton shirt - non branded about 45,000

NO....just get an international socket at any electric shop in Malaysia for RM 16.00 (On Air Asia...= RM 45.00),,

"what is the weather there?is it cold now?"

It is hot,hot in Bandung with rain in the evenings...

They are using 2 pin socket which is also very common in Malaysia. So if most of your chargers & etc are 2 pin plug, it's OK. If 3 pin, than you hv to buy 3pin to 2 pin adaptor liao

Jus check in at bdo airport ready to depart frm bdo to kl...

A brief opinion of bdo:
1.local here are very friendly
2.shopping here not to say vy great n i doubt the authenticity if the goods! I personally prefer rumah mode & secret.
3.Chinese food here was vy normal,I recommend queen restaurant. For Indonesia or Sundanese food,I dun really like it!kampung daun is must visit restaurant, the nature environment is so good.
4.weather is Bandung is sunny in the noon n cloudy + rain in the evening, weather in Jogjakarta is slightly hotter & raining in the evening or early morning!
5.road in bdo is vy bumpy n a lot of motorbike! Crossing road is bit hard!
6.hotel here usually has a very soothing surrounding like garden, swimming pool or fountain BUT for 3star n below hotel, the room is not vy clean & furniture are old.
7.I was surprise that there is a lot of public toilet available around city & also urban area which is very rare in msia
8.Some hotel hv the same 3pin socket like in msia, however socket converter is easily available at shops even in small town or village!
9. The night life here is not as active in Msia most shops close at 10pm!Their disco is not as crowded as in KL n song was not so updated too!tasted their beer too, I prefer the one in KL more...

Overall I think bdo is a good place for a short holiday n shopping!!

P/S we engaged this tour guide (Agus), he is one of the best tour guide I've ever met, very attentive, considerate & flexible! If you guys wan his contact pm me!

-self driving in bandung-

hi guys,

im going to bandung for a week on coming July. Going with 3 of my fren
I'm planning to rent a car and drive it by my self like a did in Bali.

Have anyone done this before?
i think the heavy traffic is not a problem for me, last time, everyone keep telling me how hectic the traffic at Bali, yet i still drive comfortably to any of my desired location. Thanks to bro stimix for helping me setting up my nokia-garmin gps with indonesia map smile.gif

Stimix: i dont have to download any indonesia map anymore right? can just use existing indonesia map that i used in Bali last year?
