Driving in Bali and Bandung are different. I don't it is a good idea to self drive in Bandung. If u think driver in KL is crazy, Bandung is crazier. I normally self drive if I travel but not in Bandung. I am not up to take the challenge driving in Bandung biggrin.gif

-self driving in bandung-

hi guys,

im going to bandung for a week on coming July. Going with 3 of my fren
I'm planning to rent a car and drive it by my self like a did in Bali.

Have anyone done this before?
i think the heavy traffic is not a problem for me, last time, everyone keep telling me how hectic the traffic at Bali, yet i still drive comfortably to any of my desired location. Thanks to bro stimix for helping me setting up my nokia-garmin gps with indonesia map smile.gif

Stimix: i dont have to download any indonesia map anymore right? can just use existing indonesia map that i used in Bali last year?

Hi Guys,

Recently April 2011 i went to BATAM...3 days 2 night via FIREFLY..
Stayed at Hotel Virgo and just used hotel taxi to go anywhere we want..
So far the best chicks outlet we found out was BERRY INDAH and BOTAK 82..
But nothing great about chicks at BATAM...
I dont know what its so great about BATAM gurls...
Just price cheaper thts all and their service really worst less qualities and quantities..
My friend took 1.2million rps the service was worst, then he forget about taking million ladies
Price from 500,000rps - 1,200,000rps...
The gurls priced for million if she is just new to field and never married or never give birth...
Each gurls contract last for 6months...

Heard BANDUNG is better than BATAM quality and service vice, is that true ?
Anyone here been to BANDUNG before, any idea where to visit where to book girls ?
Need tips guys..going bandung in 2 months time.

I went to Bandung from 2 - 6 May. Cowboy stail. No tourist guide. Just randomly ask people how to go and which angkut to take. 5 days is not enough for me and my wife to shopping. We don't even have time to go to Tangkuban Parahu or Kawah Putih.

During 5 days, we went to Pasar Baru to buy some Jubah and kain. The jap cotton and viscose is so damn cheap. My wife shop like crazy. Dun remember how many millions she burn.

Then we went to Paris Van Java because some locals told us the environment is nice during night. The stuff selling there is quite expensive.

The best shopping spree for me is at Jln Trunojaya. Distro heaven. Even my wife also suddenly fall in love with those distro brand. I grab a few unkl347, screamous, trident and neps. Got great discount + voucher which can be redeemed on the dot.

Later we went to Rumah Mode for another shopping spree before take off.

About the food, we only buy from the stall. Nasi Goreng biasa already so delicious. Then we try alpukat (tak sedap), bakso, batagor (addicted), pecel lele and nasi uduk. The bakso is so big.

For those who want to try the brownies, I suggest to go for Amanda instead of Kartika Sari. I think Amanda is more deli than Kartika Sari. Tasted and confirmed by me and my wife. Yours I dunno. We bought 4 Kartika and 3 Amanda for our relatives and friends.

When we arrived at LCCT, Kastam hold us for baggage inspection after we told them we just back from Bandung. They ask for receipt but I told them I left it at hotel. Then they asked whether the price of total items exceed RM1000 or not. We just say nope and they let us go. Phew..

We plan to go again next year..perhaps for business purpose..
Hee..

Just use angkut bro. Much cheaper. Use taxi or supir if u want to go for sight seeing at Tangkuban or Kawah Putih. Me and wife use angkut to go from Ciwalk - Pasar Baru - PVJ - Rumah Mode - Jln Trunojaya. Yeah u will get so damn tired carrying you shopping stuff but it is fun!

i went to Bandung earlier this month during my leave. 1st time visit.

I just bring 1 small luggage and put in 1 big luggage bag. Still not enough.

Rumah Mode is best place for me. Also The Secret, Toko 3 for Levis. Paid supir for 450k per day (12 hours) to anywhere i like to go.

Next time, gonna get cheap hotel since it is only for sleep. Better use money for shopping.

Excluding AA ticket, spent 15 million for clothes esp for kids and shoes sweat.gif

Coming Raya no need shopping again rclxms.gif

I don't remember if got hotel or not because normally we went them for day trip after Tangkuban Perahu. The place is not big so I don't see the need to overnite in that area. But on the way to Tangkuban Perahu got hotels. At nite that place is very cold like Genting Highland or Cameron Highland.

No, the hot spring is like in Ranau Hotspring in Kota Kinabalu National Park. You can take your bath or soak your feet. The place is not very big.

Just come back from Bandung.

Add this
Taxi, GR and Bluebird.
I had very bad experience with GR, GR charge me 20K for really short distance. Start price 5K. 350/jump.
Bluebird - Everyone is saying this is fair and they charge according to meter. Yes true but they bring your round the world. Start price 6K. 400/jump
I bring up my GPS and I see he keep going in zig zag. When I ask why we come back to same road, he give all kinda of excuses which i dont understand.

Here is something I wanted to share.
Amaris Hotel Cimanuk. 2 star
Very nice hotel like Tune hotel just they dun charge for towel or air cond.
The hotel very clean and quite. The room is very small but sufficient.
Free wifi. Flat LCD screen(I din turn on at all).
I am very satisfied with the room service. Breakfast very simple, I wake up pretty late so most of the food already cold.

Sukajadi hotel. Go else where. Why
a. The toilet unable to flush and the water keep leaking out with noise one whole nite.
b. The noise insulation is really bad, you can hear people talking and walking.
c. The lift is really old and the door keep failing to close.
d. WITHOUT wifi
This hotel I rate it below 2 star..

Tangkuban Perahu. Should visit this sight seeing
Kawah Ratu - The largest dead volcano there and the view is very nice.
It not very cool and many people mention in Trip Advisor. I still sweat abit with short pant. There is a way to Kawah Damar from here BUT do not go from Kawah Ratu. see below
Kawah Damar - There is parking lots at another enterance to Kawah Damar. You can walking WITHOUT a guide, it is simple and flat(Just keep turn right on 1 junction) about 30 mins walk. They will charge you 250K/hour. Just ignore them and go in WITHOUT guide. With guide they will give you massage at Kawah Damar.

Sari Ater Hot Spring
This is the first time, I go to hotspring. You will need to pay around 16k/pax and 13K/car. After entering the gate there is separate pool. There is few pool and you need to additional pay for the swimming pool like. You can to take a look first before pay and enter. I decided not pay and enjoy the natural hotspring. 2K/pax for changing room and 5k/locker. There is jagung bakar in Canteen is nice.

Flower garden (on the way to Kampung Daun)
I reach there at 7 which already dark but it should look really nice if you reach there early.

Kampung Daun.
A very nice environment dining place. It look like dirty duck in Bali. although the environment is very nice but the food is just so so. Very expensive.

Shopping.
Jalan Riau - I started with this place as my hotel very near to it. There is bunch of FO here. I gone thru every single of them. Good one are like Heritage and The Secret. They sell branded cloth (some are real with defect, AAA imitation, totally fake). You will know which is which if you always hangout in branded shop. My GF managed to get a dress at 20% of the price the original. It look exactly same.

Sukajadi - There is not much FO here except the one beside the hotel Sukajadi. Paris Van Java is within walking distance from the hotel. All the branded stuff in Paris Van Java like Mango, Esprit and La Sensa. The price of the cloth there is much more expensive compare to Msia/Singapore.

Cimpeles - The only things sold here is fake and those "I love Bandung" cloth. They give different price to foreigner compare to local. Eg, Shoe sell at 9k to local and 20k to local. There are a lot of people selling arrows, they are really annoying. Cimpeles Walk is a shopping mall. Most of them are restaurant. I took dinner here but the food taste bad again.

Jalan Dago - We started with Kartika Sari(The taxi only know this place on that road). It crowded at Kartika Sari with people buying brownies. I did buy that as I not fan of it. Most of the things in Kartika Sari without price tag but they are selling at same price to everyone.
We walk toward wrong direction heading to Planet Dago and notice there is nothing there. We took Angkutan and head back to correct path. There is some FO there. Eg. Blossom, Jetset and some local distro.

I will upload some photo to my blog when I have time.

Ps: Airport Tax when leave Bandung is 75k/pax. Keep some money for that.
