hi guys. after some time i finally managed to get myself some new case fans. I have bought
2X Scythe 120mm fan SY1225SL12M @ 68.54 CFM 1X Silverstone 120mm fan FM123 with adjustable fan speed there were also some mod and upgrade which i have done with my rig. - Replace my HD4870 with a pair of HIS IceQ4 4850 for Crossfire - Slightly OC'ed my Q9450 further from 3.4Ghz to 3.5Ghz - Installed the Silverstone fan at rear and the Scythes at one front and one side panel Here's how it looks like... I will post a screenshot of my CPU temp when i have the time to stress test it This post has been edited by metsatsu: Oct 14 2008, 08:55 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

hey boss. yes the one that i bought SY1225SL12M as stated in the specs sheet, is only 24dBa. IMO, I think it's acceptable in terms of noise level. Won't say it's very very quiet, but the noise level is good enough for me

QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Oct 14 2008, 10:03 PM) erm...janganla confess kat sini... nanti ramai yg jeles sorry bro, I've never used evercool spider. But one thing I can assure is that the noise level is definitely not like a blower. It is quite silent, if u turn on your air con, u probably won't be able to hear the fan noise already. hmm...haev u used the vizo led fan bro? or any silent fan that can be compared? cos last time i kena tipu by evercool spider..... kata 25dba iirc.... tapi bunyi macam enjin |

hard to tell leh, and it really depends on how u wanna use the fan. FM123 comes with fan speed controller, and the drawback is that you MUST INSTALL the controller and with the extra cable that u have to manage. lol, if not, it won't spin at all. but once installed, u can adjust its speed accordingly. as for me, i found my 'sweet spot' (least noise with high airflow) by adjusting the FM123 fan speed. that's the best thing about fm123.
Scythe already has a fix 68cfm air flow. thus no controller. 1 connector = less hassle. more over it's very quiet. the only thing i dun like is its appearance.... look like some cap ayam brand from far P/S: FM123 = 7 fins and Scythe = 9 fins This post has been edited by metsatsu: Oct 15 2008, 11:37 AM |
