QUOTE(Crusnik04 @ Oct 3 2008, 10:47 PM) Depends on what mouse you're using, mate. I'm using a Lachesis on Goliathus Control Edition (Small), and the cursor moves a little everytime I click the mouse, plus a small degree of random movements. Wrote a complaint email to Razer Support and these are their replies - QUOTE(Razer Support UK) I do apologize that you are having trouble using your Lachesis with your Goliathus, Unfortunately the reason for this is because the Laser Mice (The Lachesis and Copperhead) are recommended for Hard Smooth Surfaces due to the precision needed for a Laser mouse, soft gritty surfaces like the Goliathus Control edition (The speed edition would likely cause less problems as it is a smooth surface) will cause problems. We recommend the Destructor Mouse Pad for the Lachesis and Copperhead (If you go to the "Gaming Mouse Guide" under "Products" on razerzone.com, pick "Comparison Chart" and then select the Lachesis or Copperhead it will recommend the Destructor, if you select almost any other mouse it will recommend the Goliathus due to the fact that the rest of our mice use optical and infrared sensors, which require less precision then a laser sensor. We recommend using Laser mice on a hard smooth surface such as the Razer Destructor. QUOTE(Razer Support US) The movement is caused by the very sensitive sensor picking up a change in the angle between it and the mouse pad. That change is cause by a slight bending of the pad, as is common with softer mousepad. There's isn't really a fix for it, as you can't stop the pad from bending, aside from trying your mouse with slightly lower sensitivity settings. So I guess if you're using either an IR or Optical mouse, the Goliathus is for you. If you're using a Laser mouse, you're much better off with the Destructor. |

Wrote a complaint email to Razer Support and these are their replies - interesting. the Lachesis is just too sensitive and i seem to have problems once my wooden desk gets too dusty. either that or it's faulty. So I guess if you're using either an IR or Optical mouse, the Goliathus is for you. I had no problems with my Lachesis before i used it on the Goliathus. Latest firmware. Used it on wooden tables.
Noticed the teflon feet were getting scratched, so i got the Goliathus. That didn't go well, so i'll be getting a Destructor soon =). The problem was with the combination of Lachesis and Goliathus Control Edition, not the products themselves. I was just ticked off that Razer didn't notify its users that some of their products don't work well with each other. Other than that i'm fully satisfied with my Razer products (Copperhead, Exactmat and Exactrest, Lachesis, Goliathus, M100 earphones, and soon the Destructor). |

Can't you use your Lachesis with the Exactmat? It's a hard pad, should work the same. My Lachesis on Goliathus Speed gives me very little problems. There's the occasional slight movement when I click, but I think that's me rather than the mouse.

My Exactmat is too worn out. 3 years of torture took its toll.
I'm working at high res, 1920x1200, so even slight movements do have a big effect, especially with Photoshop. |

They've always replied me within a day. Or the next day, because of the time difference. I've emailed them a couple of times now regarding my Exactmat, Copperhead, and more recently Lachesis/Goliathus.
Try sending it again to < techsupport@razersupport.com > |
