ive switched to kaspersky. from what i heard on the net, mcafee and kaspersky's engines are just as good, kaspersky's overall program being a notch better. i find kaspersky... hmm... how do i put this... abit more 'aggressive' than mcafee. i dont see much diff between them, kaspersky does seem more appropriate for those who are good in comps, mcafee more friendly and relaxed kinda manner...

QUOTE(Shippou82 @ Jun 8 2005, 11:28 AM) anyone know how to update NOD32 2.5 manually if don't have Internet? http://www.nod32.com/support/nodfaq2.htmcan download update files and install on other PC that don't have Internet access? Can NOD32 be updated without access to the Internet? Yes - typically one computer in the network is set up as the update server - that computer is linked to the Internet and is updated from the NOD32 sever. Other computers in the network go to this update server for updates. For more information, please read the Guide for network administrators. |

reeyon , I don't scan my XP box at all..
Now its running on my ooooooooold computer , which is a P3 450Mhz , with 128mb of ram , and 4gig of hdd....(windows xp pro + no firewall + "popular" ports opened" + no av + no nuts + messenger service) so far i get some spams..i want to see how long it lasts..the Power of XP..is it stable or not..I will do that with every system , including the mac and linux ! AVG Free edition is very good..takes less CPU Usage..last time f***ing Norton takes a lot of CPU usage and make pc hang a lot..AVG is nice ....very good scanner tooo |

QUOTE(Shippou82 @ Jun 9 2005, 12:32 PM) yeah, u still need to connect to the network.well, maybe this is some of the reason ppl use norton, as norton av can be updated using diskett. the old pc-cillin has this function, but i think new pc-cillin 2005 dont hv that function. |

Ive been using Kaspersky personal pro 5.0.18 for about 6 month now...
wah.. this product is dem good.. when browsing website for cr**k (highly unethical to do test it n u will love it.. i also hv test AVG and browse the same website but it ain't detect anything. So Kaspersky is highly recommended by me... but it can be hard to use for noobs |
