taking off UV filters when shooting at nights (with lots of lights) is just a rule of thumb.. not necessary it will create flares.. but if u see it.. just try taking it off..

QUOTE(zio @ Sep 10 2008, 12:31 PM) Nope, it doesn't really affect the composition. And you can probably adjust it as you turn the focus ring. I don't find that a problem. I don't know but Mr Rockwell tends to nitpick on things. nice series of photos.. really makes me understand their lifestyles more.. See, ifer's philosophy affected me. I dont use UV filter as well Anyway... I went to Hanoi for my company trip and well, street shoot opportunity aplenty. I am going to chronicle Day 1, 3 and 4 of my trip with Day 2 being the Halong Bay series up in the Travel section. I will limit myself to 10 photos of each day to bring you the Hanoi flavour, hopefully. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « All shots taken with Nikon D40 and 105mm. QUOTE(ebernie @ Sep 10 2008, 01:08 PM) TTL, by nature, fire pre-flashes. First flash to judge exposure, then the 2nd flash comes after the camera has got exposure information from the first flash. On all cameras, TTL flash will work that way. Setting your flash to REAR, has got nothing to do with this. i see, but my bro's Sony A200 has more pre-flashes.. 2 times before the last one get expose if I am not mistaken..If you set the flash to manual, then obviously it's no longer TTL flash. You are telling the camera to how powerful the flash is going to be, hence no pre-flash to get exposure information. I set it to REAR so that i can see the pre-flash in action, it is too fast in normal flash mode for me to see.. |

QUOTE(ebernie @ Sep 13 2008, 03:04 PM) Now really, I didn't think I'm that smart actually. But if you insist D90, depends on the price.. the 18-105mm VR seems not bad.. what's more, they say d90 noise control is comparable with d300, which is the best in its class..Oh, I give up. xandman, you are right. I just envy your D3 and you having so much money. I really do. You got me. Since I only do Java for a living, no way I can splurge on a D3 or the expensive Nikkor lenses. === Anyone seriously considering the D90? so u know.. the poison is there.. but still.. have to see my wallet.. lol.. if not, maybe invest on lens first.. |

i would go for the option a) Sigma 70-300mm APO,
you may wanna look at tamron SP90mm (with nikon mount with AF motor). it gives u 1:1 macro, but u only get 90mm tele. This post has been edited by mindkiller6610: Sep 15 2008, 08:17 AM |

QUOTE(Darkcursed @ Sep 19 2008, 07:37 PM) guys,i was kinda disappointed today when i have decided to purchase a sigma 30mm f1.4. then try email shashinki for that..i call up yl and they quoted me rm1680 for the lens + 2 year warranty. when up to j-one and they quoted me rm1670 for the lens + 2 year warranty. obviously for me it was way out of my expectation and budget, shashinki was just selling at rm1450 and rm1350 at penang. damn disappointed,i though at local kl shop,it would be cheaper than shashinki and local online seller. I give up wanna buy this lens,my main concern is their after sales service,if my lens got apa apa hal,i can straight away go to the shop to do further checking and dont have to send back to shashinki which is way far at perak and maybe back to penang? well, that is unless I was allow to do the servicing at sigma distributor at sunway if i purchase it at penang or shashinki? i better wait for the rumors AF-S nikkor 50mm f1.4 and in contrast,i would pay rm1600 for nikkor lenses (if is true and at this price) rather than a third party,my main point is i don't wanna buy lenses that bundle along with hassle rather than enjoyment of using it. some is shop warranty, some is Sigma warranty.. if sigma warranty, i guess should be ok to just go to sigma warranty office. actually, it doesn't matter much, because from my experience, once apa apa hal, u got back to the shop, 90% they ask u go to warranty office, or they will help u send to warranty office, it is almost the same.. very seldom they will exchange 1 to 1 for u easily.. I think Shashinki boss, Koh Kho King claimed that he check every lens for front and back focus issues.. This post has been edited by mindkiller6610: Sep 19 2008, 07:51 PM |

Manual Metering ??
that means u have to guess the exposure.. since it is manual metering.. ur meter chart of coz wont show u anything right ?? it is definitely harder than manual focus.. |
