QUOTE(KTCY @ Oct 13 2008, 05:24 PM) Comparing full frame with D40 is like comparing Ferrari with Proton. With the price of AF-S 50mm f1.4 I'd rather get a D80 and get the old version of 50mm f/1.4 of course not comparing la,but kena poison like that memang susah. i've been thinking to get a prime for myself la,i dont have a prime after all 1,if getting a d80, Autofocus with older generation lense is not a problem already

Well the Raynox is still cheaper. Possibly around RM1.3k to 1.5k i guess (I mean the Tamron ). This post has been edited by zio: Oct 13 2008, 05:37 PM

QUOTE(Darkcursed @ Oct 13 2008, 05:16 PM) guys, hmm, shooting with my d40 all these long, recently starting to felt it does not satisfied my need, felt it was so tiny my aim was d300 jump but it was way too out of my budget already, yesterday kena poison by full frame camera, fuiyoo, dam nice man should i consider upgrade d80 or buying a AF-S 50mm f1.4 instead? "Feels so tiny" is definitely a new reason that I've come across. And Full Frame Camera is a lot more expensive than the D300. If you can find a specific reason to justify the upgrade to the D80, or to buy the AF-S 50mm f1.4, then go for it... just don't upgrade for the sake of upgrading.

now i truly understand why ppl say wide aperture lens is a faster lens.. lol... Added on October 13, 2008, 6:39 pmkenrockwell has his says, http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/1755.htmQUOTE I'm not particular to needing f/2.8 for low light; I use slower lenses and crank up the ISO. QUOTE(orenzai @ Oct 13 2008, 07:09 PM) did he mention that he was using a D3 to make that statement above? I do not believe so... the 17-55 is a DX lens and is not suitable for use on the D3. He would be using a DX body to test that lens.

Well, Ken Rockwell is well-known for supporting the cheaper lenses. I think he will gladly tell you to go for the 18-200mm over the 24-70mm.

Manual focus practice madness. Sorry I'm still "jakun" with this lens. and it has become somewhat a tradition that I practice something new with my cats.
