Hi, question, how to know whether to choose buy AC or DC for K14Z
*
I would say between the motors,
DC brushless and AC always brushless no major difference.

More on aesthetic and price as essentially its like a facelift only. The electricity diff is quite minimal (on an absolute value comparison). Relatively there may be big (50%) diff but for small absolute value purchase price diff CAPEX between the Z9 vs ZW makes more impact than 50c vs rm1 OPEX

What is the energy rating for those fan? Like you, I'm also searching for fan for my first house.

Quite afraid to get the fan with remote type. Afraid if it is not last longer compared to regulator type.
*
Fan wise I'd say even 2 star motor also OK since their OPEX diff in $ is low..as compared to fridge or AC.

It may take a decade to realise the CAPEX diff of 100 bucks for fans in the OPEX savings between 2 and 5 star fan motor laugh.gif

Any good option for something like this 5-blade design Crestar valueair fan to get in Malaysia?

One of their dealers should be able to ship over.
But it is usually the other way around, SG ppl like to buy MY fans coz cheaper.
Elmark/Deka/Alpha should have some range with LED light.
Check for past product recall for Elmark range.

For budget regulator can, which brand is recommended ya. Saw a few Khind (RM90), KDK (RM150) and Panasonic (RM150). Will there be any huge difference in quality ?
*
KDK regulator tried and tested in public schools running at top speed 12 hours a day.

While the cheaper ones will work.. it will be a question of when they fail only.

planning to get elmark model 42'' atom and 56'' TP102.
heard that previous elmark few model has been recall back due to quality issue. however, i like their design with white and wood color mixture.

any advice on this?
*
Yeah that is the concern coz from the more established fan maker they don't release hundreds of models as its not that easy to ensure safety 1st desifn for so many models :lol

What do you guys think?

If any of you guys have other suggestion, please share with me.
And if you guys know shops in Selangor&KL that sell Ceiling fan for a good price, please share as well.

Thanks
*
Should be good to go. Although for looks one can get the more expensive 4 blade model from KDK, but these will work perfectly.

Does anybody have experience with Alpha AX60? Was thinking of installing either this or KDK V-touch Junior in the bedroom.

All feedbacks are much appreciated smile.gif
*
Vtouch Jr using AC motor
should be almost zero maintenance as ALL AC motor is brushless. thumbup.gif
this one tried and tested legendary blade design (also used in Sensa).

For the Alpha AX60-5B 56 its using DC motor
DC motor can come in brushless or brushed model - you need to check with Alpha to see if motor is brushless or with carbon brush as they didn't explicitly mention.
I'll assume the Alpha Natural Wind = yuragi mode.
Other than that, DC motor save power over AC fan, although it also depends on usage pattern to be noticeable (whether run as per ST testing or just minimal use few hours here n there only)

Anyone can give some advise, I'm looking for DC ceiling fan.

I'm thinking of either Panasonic Econavi, or KDK Sensa 4.
Both look similar though, even the prices I saw online are similar.
Are they worth the price?

Or, any other DC fans I should consider?

Main thing I'm looking for is reliability, and DC for power saving. With everyone working from home, we at least have 3 fans running from morning till night every day. sweat.gif
*
Sensa 4 is DC brushless.
Should suit your needs biggrin.gif

MOTOR W - FAN ONLY (LOW)
2.5

MOTOR W - FAN ONLY (HIGH)
41.0

as compared to AC motor fan:
MOTOR W - FAN ONLY (LOW)
20

MOTOR W - FAN ONLY (HIGH)
68

However the ROI for "DC fans" price premium will take awhile to realise. laugh.gif
say total of 100W power difference (between 3 units AC vs DC fans) used for 16 hrs * 30 days equate 48kwh
at 0.518 3rd tier TNB (exaggerated) is RM 24.86 per month diff.
at 0.338 2nd tier TNB (more nominal) is RM16.23 per month diff.

is 48" fan enough for 10 x 10 feet living room ?
*
Should be alright, 10x10 feet seems like a computer room size.. which in my case is using a 54" old Sensa 4 usually on the lower speed 1/2 so translating to 48" should be still within the nominal working range for 48".

Model: K15Y2-CO
RPM: Low 84 High 195
Capacity (CFM): 7946
AIR DELIVERY (m3/min) 225

Model : K14Y2
RPM : Low 102 High 215
Capacity (CFM) : 7946
AIR DELIVERY (m3/min) 225

Between the 4 blade and 5 blade is the same airflow.
Might as well just get the Vtouch Jr. instead.. tongue.gif only 405 or so online.
Else can get 4 blade Sensa 4 DC BRUSHLESS for 500-515 online.

Really not sure about DC motor. The AC motor fan I'm replacing was working well for over 10 years at least.

The 5 blade fan bigger tho(60" vs 56"). One swoop can cover more area than the smaller sibling. The smaller one compensate that with faster(more rpm) swoop. So having bigger one would probably sound and look more relaxing aesthetically. At least that's my logic biggrin.gif

What do you think?
*
A Kancil will be screaming to keep up with a Civic, this is normal..but in this case its a marginal diff between Civic 1.8 and Civic 2.0.

The larger fan is actually configured at slightly lower rpm so that balances out between 56in n 60in to give same cfm. I took these from KDK website.

More of an aesthetic choice, performance the same. For price to price of 500 bucks range I'd get the Sensa 4, its DC motor smile.gif

Ah yes. I straightway strike Sensa 4 out of the choices because of DC motor. My concern is durability.
AC motor well tested tech. DC only these past few years.
Just like you said. Not much of price difference in Sensa 4 and the one I'm looking at. Might change my mind tho. Worth it going DC/Sensa 4?
*
AC motor is durable coz all AC motors, from cheap to expensive also 100% confirm brushless.

Whereas, DC motor can be brushed or brushless. When buying DC fan need to check whether brushed or brushless type. Brushless motors last longer just like AC motors.

Even cordless power tools also promoting DC brushless motors for less maintenence and better specs.

Buy min 1.5mm² at least to be code compliant. Buy too thin hard to strip, and it may slip out of terminal. Loose cuts are very cheap.

Hi guys any 42" - 48" Baby fan to recommend with LED light? Looking for low budget value for money option..

And are all these Baby fan need hook? Heard Panasonic only use drill, would it be an issue on safety?
*
Mostly NON Pana/KDK baby fans will use hook. U can check the Alpha baby fans out. Check the mounting type to be sure before buying.

KDK baby fan eg K11Z1 that say no hook will use the ball joint plate that mount to ceiling with 5 sleeve anchor, 4+1 safety.. see https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1083406/K...l?page=6#manual

4x sleeve anchor alone is quite overspec for a 5kg fan brows.gif

Wanted to check to installer, installing the baby fan with + a new hook will be simpler/pricier
or installing these baby fan with just the ball joint plate?  hmm.gif

Which one more work & higher price?
*
Scope of work to hang on concrete floor slab
A) hook with 2 holes (self provide 2 sleeve anchor + RM5 hook) or
B) mounting plate (4+1 sleeve anchor already provided by KDK; so just drill 5 holes)
Is bout the same actually if installer brings a rotary hammer.

Only diff is if ur mounting fan on plaster ceiling as additional support needed to support that 5-8kg.

You can just drill yourself if electric fan point is already there and you have a ladder. Not rocket science. Rotary hammer cost about 200 bucks only.

Ok I just gonna be transparent on this.

I don't get to deal with the installer itself, there is an intermediate person who may not have the full knowledge of the installation and just gonna be bragging about stuffs that they might not know.

High chances this fella just gonna be acting like they know everything and never heard of installation method through drilling, why I know this, because it appear I know stuffs more than he do on many thing I asks, you may ask me to change to other installer, but this is a package they included for this part which I have to live with.

Reason why I asked so much here is to make sure I know what I paid for instead of just plainly paying 30 or 50 bucks on something that is not justifiable.
Of course in the end it also influence the decision I have to make on which fan I should purchase, a baby fan with a hook, or like KDK and Panasonic which is drilling.

Brand wise and quality of course KDK and Panasonic is more reputable, but I have to live with drilling method of their fan installation and challenge any unreasonable claim from their side which they did not want to explore.

So now the option to totally let them do what they think right is not an option here, I need to keep an eye on it.
*
That's the problem.. if you go thru the installation manual (included with all fan) it is very simple
But contractors love to throw away everything idk why.

Even fan hook also need to drill hole for sleeve anchor to go in.. unless they trust it to Loctite glue then I have no comment la.

For easier drop down mounting, can ask the hairpin table legs maker customise length for you, the 2-rod ~46cm (1.5ft) should be around your plaster ceiling height +/-
This can be mounted to ceiling with a few drop in anchors.

Hi sifu2 here, does NSB fan have any hidden issue? Can you guys recommend me budget NSB fan?
I saw NSB N led series on Shopee.. around 399 for 56”, is that a good buy?
*
I saw the spec of 56" -RPM/CFM at Max: 245 RPM/5536 CFM
(in contrast with the competition i.e. KDK 56") output 7946 CFM.

so it may not be as windy lah. blade design look nice but doesn't maximise full airflow potential.

No publicised recalls of NSB fan so quality-wise should be OK. biggrin.gif
