Hi guys, what are the tools needed for a ceiling fan installation? I already have an existing fan, so it's a matter of taking it down and putting a new one up.
*
PH2 screwdriver
Stubby PH2 if low shaft model
Test pen
Venus spanner in 12/13/14mm

Good quality connector block
3M Electrical tape

Carpet or other soft cloth to prevent scratching

Guys I need help please. My old fan is removed completely from the ceiling. Took me well over an hour, the head is super heavy and I needed someone else to assist with holding the motor unit. Opening the housing also took quite an effort. Anyways I am glad to have done it.

Now I have an issue, the wires on my ceiling not match the colour of the Panasonic Bayu.

The Bayu wires are blue, green and brown. The ceiling wires are green, black and white.

Pre-loosen the mounting bolt only.
Then only disconnect the electrical wires of the fan.
Then take it down in one smooth motion.

Guys, do I need to remove the white cover? The manual doesn't say anything.
*
If not replacing PCB or any funny things, there is no need to do anything to the fan. rclxub.gif
You only need to attach the blades and hook up the main mounting bolt with the yo yo black rubber thing, and hook up LNE to the very obvious LNE cable. The mounting points are the cables that are pointing towards the sky along the shaft. Don't forget the safety wire. 15 min settled.

Okay finally completed installation of the Bayu fan.

Sadly, the fan might be defective.

1. It briefly spins backwards, before spinning forwards when turned on
2. When switching speeds, it takes around 10 seconds before applying the new speed. It's not instant, there is some delay there

Can someone confirm if this is indicative of a defective unit?

installed the blade terbalik ka?
*
Impossible. The blades are keyed to fit only one way (with the plastic notch "quarter pieces" making it one full circle)

Guys, for a ceiling fan with either AC or DC motor, what happens if I pasang the L and N wires terbalik? Will it kaboom or just won't work and I just need to rewire it?
*
It will work but the fan is still "hot" even when switch is off AND if you didn't turn off the main RCD, since the fan switch only act on neutral wire. Not good practice to install terbalik, just climb up correct it lo

I see, tq for the advice. Sometimes the electrical wires aren't of the standard colours. And I have a phobia when it comes to testing live wire with test pen.
*
A test pen is safe as its resistor and diode inside is huge enough to limit any current flow through your body.

I would check that your main RCD is 30mA (0.03A) in order to have safe protection for human life.

now doing house reno and visited some lighting shop . they strongly recommend Deka+ Monza and Alvia.. 42" RM338 , 56" 488 ....
Worth the money to get Deka+ ? or should i just stick to Panasonic ?

The best part about a DIKU fan is ripping out all the reusable stuff from it e.g. screws, C clips, and stuff like cotter pins.

It just ticks the box of having a fan for short term. Longevity not there, the PCB always fail because its driving a very heavy archaic motor.
Ease of installation -ve 8 out of 10
Ease of uninstallation -10 out of 10

Crude design, rough screw threads, can beat Airasia in terms of cost saving.

Even the mounting bolt also using a thin bolt (10mm spanner) and nut also 10mm. And that permanently attached metal bowl blocks the entire area means to install or uninstall the mounting bolt takes forever as you barely can turn the spanner even 30 degrees (using a 12-winged box end spanner).

As compared to the tried and trusted Pana/KDK using 12 and 13mm spanners so its easy to tighten with full 120-degree motion.

Hi all,

I'm looking at KDK K14QF vs K14PH.
K14PH comes with glass fibre blades at price around RM300+
K14QF comes with metal blades at price around RM400+

Anyone has experience with both of the model above? and which would be better option? Currently, I'm prefer K14QF more since it comes with metal blades.
*
Go K14QF. the PH blade underpowered too flat, those aren't the legendary Sensa/Vtouch type ABS blades
