Hi Sifu..

I cant find proper stand fan thread.. can i ask here? is there any good looking stand fan and wall fan with strong wind? haha....

recently just bought Pana econavi fan for living.. but parents refuse to use ceiling in bedroom due to Feng Shui....  sweat.gif
*
Stand fan.. I hate it because always bump into it and break the neck then throwaway problem lol.
Wall fan.. bestest is KDK KC-4GR. I use this at home, and community hall used for yoga studio also use half a dozen, plenty of wind. The wind comes very focused like a tube of air. Easy to install just mount the hook with few screws, hang on the fan, plug in the power, ta-dah~

my panasonic ceiling fan had noises after I clean the blades, maybe due to blades not balanced? anyway to DIY because my warranty period is over.. if called technician, how much does it cost?
*
During cleaning you might have shifted the blades' position. May need to climb up and loosen screws holding the blades a turn or two..pull out the blade to the max.. retighten the screws.

I am unable to purchase any KDK any fans in JB. absolutely no stock.  sad.gif

Also, one vendor mentioned that KDK fans are either made in Malaysia or Japan, the one made in Japan has a 5 year warranty with an almost double price tag.

is that true?
*
Lazada, shopee got.
Ceiling fan box have so much foam padding it is 100pc safe to order online.
Expensive models imported but price also out of this world, as you mentioned.

😳 which is the so called expensive models? Their Wi-Fi Nodoka is it made in Malaysia or Japan?
*
Nowadays - from the looks of it, all also made in Msia. The cup between MY and JP model PES-100 looks different.

I think this was an early batch experimental unit or grey import from SG before Nodoka launch here. It make more sense to make 230V stuff in MY though. Japan is 100V.

To be honest I'm confused on which brand to buy. All brands has bad reviews especially on motor, vibration and low speed after 1-2 years. Confused 😅
*
Sometimes due to the installation problem, or tolerance is looser on lower end model + the fact that houses have shrunk over the years due to inflation means the room walls are getting closer to the fan. Short rod models also contribute another tolerance headache.

QUOTE(sijun @ Jan 10 2022, 01:14 PM)
i use rezo at my current place, AX42 and S306. only used slightly over 1 year, no issues so far except the remote sometimes kinda shit.

I went looking for KDK z-series for my soon to be new place but its practically non existent in most shops now, so i opted back for rezo AX42 and Zetta 56.

Just as u said, you can find bad review on almost all fans, including the almighty KDK and Panasonic. It really depends on your luck sometimes.

I settled with Rezo still cause at least they have 5 yrs warranty while KDK only has 1 yr.

The only brand i will never touch is DEKA cause their bad reviews far outweigh any good reviews on them.
*
Online still got some units. Usually closer to CNY there's an increase in demand. I would say for KDK ABS bladed models (Old Sensa 4 AC, new Sensa 4 DC, current Vtouch Jr) were made much better than the basic 300 bucks remote versions. The blade tolerance in box also tighter. Metal blade models +/- more grams (looser spec) wink.gif

Hi, I bought a set of three Alpha brand ceiling fans recently, model AX666-5B. It works fine but one issue I have is that it makes some noise after it comes to a complete stop. Sometimes quite some time after it stops. It's a kind of rattling sound. It doesn't seem to affect the functioning and there is absolutely no sound when it is spinning. But it's unsettling.

Any idea what the problem could be?

3 small room if aesthetic not issue K12 KDK regulator also can last 10 15 yrs.
Sensa all OOS

Vtouch Jr? Same blade as Sensa.
https://shopee.com.my/product/265603081/5436496923

Dining n small hall u can get Z series KDK..the low 300 bucks 2021 model with narrow tumbler cup

I suggest the better fans at MBR if u use fan more than AC
If fan seldom use because of AC..the standard KDK regulator also can. Bear in mind 60in ya. Make sure enough clearance

Regulator fan lifespan will last 15 20 years
Mostly just change rm30 regulator box in 10 yrs
Bearing problem at 15-20 years. Then either refurb or replace.

Ya dont look down on thr basic 60in KDK regulator
It produce a lot ot wind because its 60in
Its just not pretty.

Id suggest the wall fan KC4GR instead. Blowing hot air away better than recirc hot air downwards.

I started looking at wall fans especially the KC4GR for my laundry area (small spot, 10.5 ft x 5 ft, basically for the ceiling I have a Houm SuperDryer so my fan will be on the wall).

I then compared against the Panasonic equivalent (well, the KC4GR is pretty scarce on the stocks) and found out its a 4 pole vs 14 pole motor design... with the KDK being more efficient in terms of wattage but still output similar rpm. What else I might be missing? Is it just a preference of grey vs white color...? well the Panasonic has a prettier remote control  laugh.gif

I converted the the kdk to m3/min, the Panasonic seems to deliver more air 85 m3/min vs 63 m3/min (2225 cfm).

I still think Pana cost cutting will not have our consumer interest at heart.

QUOTE
What is the advantage of more poles in motor?
As the number of poles is increased, the magnetizing current of the motor increases and the motor can deliver the higher starting as well as the running torque. The frame size of the motor increase with an increase in the number of poles.

Also,

QUOTE
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2934319-motor-with-more-poles-give-more-torque-again More poles = electrical-/magnetic- or electromechanical gearing. At same electrical speed, the motor with 2x as many poles will rotate at half speed (hopefully at 2x torque for same size so power remains constant) also more poles will mean less torque ripple, so the motor will run smoother.
More poles, larger diameter motor gives more torque, and lower ideal speed.

Who are you? We should meet. Hahaha

Anyway I'm also looking for ceiling fans and was searching DC motors and their effectiveness. Hahaha. I've searched everything and your'e the one that answers the Qs I have in my mind.

If I had a strong steady fan I may not need to use the AC. Right now I use an NSB fan in my room and it's squeaking. When it's on low mode it's super slow. when the installer first installed it, they blades were upside down and it was always a lousy fan in general.

Are fans easy to switch out on our own?
*
Fans are very easy to do*, assembly u can use an ikea rubbish bin or laundry basket to assemble most (n-1) of the blades on ground if you are alone.. if with friends its easier because someone can do the holding and someone can do the driving.
*assuming no crazy 20 feet ceiling and you have a proper ladder

KDK/Pana fans are super easy to do.
Download the PDF assembly instructions if you're not sure (easy to blow up on laptop).

Diku fans should be charged double. Stupid metal cup (non-removable) gets in the way of everything.

Just need 12/13/14mm cheap spanners, PH2 + and a test pen minus screwdriver. Short rod fan better with stubby screwdriver.

I think i installed hundreds of fans in my life jor as part of the job. tongue.gif
The optimum number of blades to do on ground is n-1
any less its a waste of time
any more it gets in the way dong dong dong on your head

so... which brand & model is breezy , and most importantly can go slow and quiet ? I wouldn't want something that can be too fast at no.1 speed.

will combine with air conditioner
*
KDK Sensa 4.

Sensa 5 is 60", cost more. Sensa 4 should "exceed expectations". Its #1 is kinda slow for me (it has 9 speeds), usually run on 2 or 3.

NOT running the fan at full speed 24/7 all the time like in classrooms will prolong its life.

10-20 years easily. The only thing you may need to change is the capacitor(s) as they have lifespan around 12 yrs. Element14 sells good ones. Bearing wear n tear at 10-20yrs point and depends on your speed - max speed max wear.

I changed out my ceiling fan!

I changed out my NSB Asta 56 with a Deka F5DC fan! The Asta only had 2 speeds and at low speed it was like it wasn't moving. Everything is made of metal.
The Asta was as heavy as a bowling ball and this F5DC is a lot lighter so it appears to be wobbling more than it should. It's silent though. It has a breezy sound. Not sure if I should worry about the wobble.
It took me many hours because I couldn't put my wires into the connecting board. I don't know why it didn't want to lock in. Everything else was quite easy. I'm not sure if I should install the balancing kit. I think the DC driver might cause it to be a lopsided on one side.

tried to adjust the pulley, still wobbling. now when i look at it, it's worse
and my brown and blue cable fell out of the connecting board because it's not secure. i might just buy another connecting board to use. it's hard when to get it secured when it's stuck to the pole.

can the wire not send enough electricity if not all the little wires are connecting? the way i connected is like... i'm afraid it'll fall apart again.

sigh. there's a ticking sound now.

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Nov 16 2022, 10:57 PM)
I think i'm an old school people not looking at fancy design but rather functionality. I got 8 ceiling fans in my house, all KDK brand.
3x Sensa 5 K15Z5-QEY - RM600+
2x K14Y2 - RM400+
3x K14YZ - RM300+
Those are the price 7 years ago.

2x Sensa 5 K15Z5-QEY and 2x K14Y2 is considered use the most with weekday roughly 4 hours per day at mid speed, and 12 hours during weekend served me for 7 full years now (accumulated 12k+ hours per fan), without having a single issue, not even bearing/vibration noise, speed wise remained same as new without capacitor change.
The cheapest K14YZ sometimes is noisy due to cover rattle and those were seldom used anyway.

So you get what you pay, but at least i have no regret with KDK fan, those are 'real fan' doing the job that supposed to do, my relative/friend who use those fancy/decorative fan already change at least once in 7 years due to noise/motor malfunction so at the end the cost even higher.
*
That is true. The best VFM one was a RM249 sensa new old stock from HLK.
KDK the best.

QUOTE(SavageJoe @ Nov 17 2022, 08:22 AM)
I heard alot noise problem about PANASONIC 56" BAYU 5 BLADES
Nowadays KDK = panasonic? Many people saying both is the same just with different case...
*
One with unmodded design because KDK prod line not the same as the Pana one
one with cost cutting measures that is best summarised not worth the RM10 savings.
