i can't find 42" for pana nami in website  hmm.gif

also, the more blades the better? i google it and they said for aesthetic purposes
*
there is some truth to it for more blades better
fewer blades (3 bladed) need higher rpm to run
For same airflow the 5 blade can run slower rpm compared to 4 bladed
case in point comparing these
https://www.kdk.com.my/product/k14xz-pbr/
vs
https://www.kdk.com.my/product/k14yz-pbr/

the 4 bladed is 102-196rpm
the 5 bladed is 95-183rpm

power consumption about the same coz more blade heavier to turn.

TLDR, any 54-56-60in about same airflow one lah whether it has 3-4-5 blades. Its more on aesthetic choice.

60in regulator with 3 blade, because of higher angular velocity of a bigger diameter produces the most wind at lowest cost, lowest maintenance cos the regulator house the capacitors and RM32 every decade to replace *very user servicable too*. whereas remote fan all on PCB and replacement need some work.

However for remote fan go for the KDK Vtouch or KDK Sensa, likewise for Pana also look at RM400 series up (Nami)
do not get the Bayoo series. many lemon.
Rm300 one if new model OK. as this is the cheapest remote series-new model new dies ok the plastic still in tolerance. after many years of use the die lose tolerance and a lot of funny stuff happen as QC is close two eyes on the cheap series.

Anyone happen to use Alpha Cosa CX699?
The remote original is broken, and I bought another one online..however it's not working.

Rather than buying another one, can anyone using this fan to share the remote control model and photo?
*
Try contacting Alpha directly? IIRC, things from Alpha, Joven they do sell spare parts (even for their WH)..

QUOTE(thet2697 @ Jan 7 2023, 01:52 PM)
DC fan definitely saves energy but the energy usage of ceiling fan isn't really an issue even if run 24/7 compared to say aircond. That's why the cheap regulator fans are AC and still 5 star energy, you need DC to run all the fancy features like Yuragi and 9 speed etc.
The con for DC is that there's no point paying for all those extra features like Yuragi etc if you're not gonna use it, and most people don't.
*
Not true that yuragi need DC. Sensa 4 AC motor also got yuragi already.
Ceiling fan is cheap to run.

As a feature, Yuragi nicer to sleep with/chill under (like living room) if you just rely on fan (no AC). feel like natural breeze coz got speed variation.

Fundamentally no point to go for RM500 range 4-blade (Sensa 4) as its still the same ABS blade as the RM4xx Vtouch Jr ABS 4-blade (both have Yuragi)

However between RM300 range of basic metal blade vs RM400 range for ABS blade there's a big difference.
at this juncture, the ABS blade is the whole point of it and is well worth the extra 100.

Thanks for sharing the info. I'm also surveying for remote controlled ceiling fans.

Currently I'm using Pana/KDK but those older basic type which the PCB will cost about RM60 to replace, and need to do so once every few years else certain speed will not run.

I see now you are saying that better not to go with the Bayu series but to get Nami instead. May I know is it due to this PCB reliability issue? Or there are any other considerations?

Thanks
*
I bought a Bayoo in 2014 was OK
I bought another one in 2018. Kept until got my keys at 2019. The horrors. At full speed it couldn't even blow off tissue paper on the table hence the nickname windless wonder. I alr install uninstall from living room to master bedroom to store room all also same issue. Didn't use it much at all. Sold off half price to a forumer here (if you read back this thread) and bought a new model KDK. Bliss biggrin.gif

Consider a marvelous invention called a wall fan. https://www.kdk.com.my/product/kc-4gr/
The wind blown by it is really "tubular" like a light beam brows.gif (for this model).

Hi,i wanted to buy ceiling fans for a new house(Living room,MB,small rooms and dining hall).
Need some enlightments and recommendations.Im not going for the design, just need a decent fan that reliable.

1)AC vs DC
2)4 blades vs 5
3)Recommended fans

And i saw some posts recommending nodoka,sensa,DC4 and Z series...what is the features & advantages of this models?
*
1. No diff
2. No diff, its LPPL (more blade slightly lower rpm) between 4 & 5
3. KDK Sensa 4 for bedroom, living room either Sensa 4 or Vtouch Jr, small room just take the remote fan about RM320 range from KDK.
3.1 Don't bother saving the few bucks on Pana
3.2 Same factory but diff process
3.3 Forget anything sounds like DIKU

BTW I'm looking for Bayu 4 ceiling fan, and noticed that currently the colours available are only black or white.

I'm used to the previous grey/silver colour. So now looks likely I need to go with the black colour one. Just wondering, will it look weird like something is moving above your head if it's put in the bedroom and you are about to sleep? Coz the ceiling is white and a black fan is moving around it.

Just wondering, maybe existing users of black colour ceiling fan in bedrooms can share your experience  biggrin.gif

Thanks

I bought one, didn't manage to use it due to lacklustre wind, sold "Lightly used with box" for half price because this particular model is lemon model.
Or in summary = "Regret"

If I had to pay myself for installation and uninstallation [from living room - MBR - storeroom] I already rugi more than the fan price itself

oh how bad is it ya? is it due to the low wind issue? and which model you get to replace it?

coz i've been using my bayu 4 for more than 15 years, so far working fine except need to change the pcb a couple of times. but it's an old model though so maybe the new ones are not so reliable anymore?

thanks
*
Yeah I bought in 2018, installed in 2019 when i got keys, then really never used much as work in progress
Sold off in 2021 or 2022

I got the KDK equivalent Z-series (i think 2021 release) with the narrow stem cup and it has worked perfectly (tissue on table will get blown off at all speeds)

whereas the 2018 Bayu dunno what happen i put max speed also no effect to the tissue paper on table. can never blow off.

QUOTE(lowyat101 @ Mar 6 2023, 11:27 AM)
oh ya forgot to elaborate a bit

my laundry area is already semi open concept, 1 side of it is facing outside with 5ft wall and grills on top. so it will not be so humid there.

the purpose of the fan will be:
1) cool down the place when need to do some manual laundry, washing etc. coz that area is with polycarbonate roof so will be a bit hot during day time.
2) help to dry the cloths during rainy days

thanks
*
Wall fan, that KDK remote wall fan will be perfect, can be pointed at wherever and air movement is damn good due to the blade design.

Hi, currently choosing ceiling fans for my new house. I was given Deka fans in the quotation by my ID. Thinking of swapping that out since there are so many bad reviews on that.

Looking through this topic, I gathered that KDK Sensa 4 and V Touch Jr macam the best, but are there any good fans at 46" or 42"?

Thanks!

Why is it a lemon? And I thought KDK same. How are they different?

I got this Bayu 4
3 speed. Fastest speed the fan got humming sound. Mid speed got humming I open and put some hot glue and reassemble now ok. Fastest speed still humming.

And yes I chose this because it was cheaper than the equivalent kdk.

But compared to Aeratron the wind noise is significant. If the humming noise comes back or the fan fries I’m getting an Aeratron or KDK DC model.
*
Same factory, different licensing and CR process, diff production line. Proton Saga vs Mitsu Lancer.
Krek krek noise, max speed does nothing, no wind, tissue cannot blow off the table at max speed even if left to run for 30 mins.
Already uninstall and reinstall all over my apartment.
The RM15 savings not worth it. Replaced with a Z series KDK when it was newly launched and tissues can't stay on the table rclxm9.gif TCO, after minus off the losses from that Bayu 4 sale and new KDK Z series can already buy a Sensa 4 from the beginning.. even a V touch jr would have been cheaper. Haven't count my own "installation fees" if I had to pay RM80 per trip imagine how much alr.

Dear sifus, this is my house office (high ceiling but long and narrow partition), I am sitting right below it every working day.

The ceiling fan is Alpha Cosa Xpress 40" bought exactly 2 years ago (March 2021).

8x of the Alpha Cosa fans in my house now required to change the PCB board (only speed 1 & 4 working, either super slow speed or fast noisy headache inducing speed, super annoying).

I have been turning on the air cond more often, but the air cond can be too cold at times (and waste of electricity), hence I am planning to change the whole fan instead.

Based on recommendations from previous threads, which fan would be more suitable for such room?

1. KDK K11Z1-ES (110cm/44”) can fit? or perhaps Aeratron 43”?
2. install KDK KC-4GR wall fan at the wall light point
3. standing fan??

Personally would prefer ceiling fan but it seems like ceiling fan might not suitable for this layout, not many good <40" ceiling fans also.

Any inputs are greatly appreciated!!
*
wall fan for long and narrow better, ceiling fan in too small a place also don't work well.

The area right below the fan should be ok. But if you want to move lots of air in a narrow long rectangular space consider using a wall fan the KC-4GR. That blows a lot of air like a tube.

I am looking for new ceiling fans and I have shortlisted this as they have the best price as compared to the others in this range.
I could not find any specific review or information about this anywhere.

Is there anyone here that has experience using this model or Panasonic ceiling fans in general?

Buying on price alone is the worst thing.
I am very glad to have sold off that exact same model at a loss of half price because it was a windless wonder.

Never ever.
I only spec KDK in my house and there has been no issues.

Hi situs, been looking at DC wall / ceiling fan to install at my old room recently. But came across a few problem.

Room is pretty small about 3.2m x 3.2m x 2.64(floor to plaster ceiling [plaster ceiling to concrete 15cm+-] )

One side of the room is occupied by built-in wardrobes 234cm x 68.5cm x ceiling heights.

Currently looking at both wall or ceiling fan to install. Stand fan is taking abit space in such a small room.

The room doesn’t come with a fan hook.

1) Is it still possible to install a fan hook?
2) If not, any sifu used ceiling fan without fan hook ( bracket type ) ceiling fan before? Is it safe?
3) So far only saw 2 brands that has ceiling fan that doesn’t require hook and low profile type. NSB LISA 52” , NSB Jonathan 56” and Panasonic Bayu F-M12D2 48”.  Any sifu came across this 3 models and what’s your experience with these brands/ model?
4) If those are not a good option, I’m actually looking also looking at corner fan like Fanzo Phoenix 20”, but again not sure how well will it work to deliver wind from one end to another end of the room.

5) I kept seeing normal ceiling fan and baby fan. But I can’t find info on what’s the differences between the normal type and baby fan type.
*
Based on the no-hook and very limited space, a ceiling fan would not really fit well unless you get a short shaft one. It would be more useful to install a wall fan for ventilation. KDK KC-4GR

What is the correct method to install the ceiling fan to avoid wobbling?
A)Assemble all part and hook to the mounting
B)Assemble all the part except for the blades to be fixed after the motor assembly hooked to the mounting
*
Find rubbish bin and terbalik the fan motor.
Mount the blades except one, on ground.
Climb ladder.
Mount the fan on hook.
Finally install the last blade in the air.

Trying to struggle with all blades in the air and the fan keep rotating everywhere hitting your head is not a good idea. The n-1 arrangement allows you enough room to struggle with the rubber bung and the bolt.

Tolerances in QC. Metal blade model tend to have looser tolerances. You can check the gram weight stickers on the blades.

is there significance in terms of electricity usage for a AC vs DC fan?

installing about >7 fans altogether.. so the price differences are significant.

Not much difference. Less use of electric kettle will be more saving unless you run the fans 24/7 in mamak stall.

Blardy fan at max speed is so weak that there's no wind at all. Can't even blow off a tissue paper on the table even if you leave the fan running for hours on max speed.

Sold off and put in a KDK 4 blade remote (the cheap model at 300 bucks range) at mid speed only - the tissue dunno fly where in mere seconds.

Isn't the KDK and Panasonic ~RM400 remote model actually the exact same? This year they changed both to DC motor.

Same factory can also produce Lexus and Toyota.

That one time I bought the remote Bayu 4 brand new from a lighting shop in Puchong is the time I regretted the most. Lemon unit can't even blow tissue off a table at max speed. Already installed and uninstalled the same fan from living room, medium room, and small room, and actually never used it more than a month total runtime. Finally sold it cheaper than half price to a forumer here.

I bought another KDK remote and that thing blows tissue easily even on speed 2.

I swore not to get another Pana in my life; but I had the chance to get a free Pana remote fan which was running slow and the prev owner didn't bother to repair (OLD model silver colour type) which needed a PCB board replacement, I swapped the PCB out for 40 bucks (replacement from spee) and it works again.
