Well, not thinking of upgrading main speakers yet.

But yesterday not fully able to test Synchrony One since ROTF probably not the best material to test mains (but excellent for testing sub). Next time must play some concerts, since I think material that is optimised for stereo is best for testing main speakers.

Not even in ur wish list? laugh.gif
Actually I brought along an audiophile CD thinking of using it to test the Synchrony One
but time not allowed sweat.gif
Have to find a day next time to test the stereoness of the speakers smile.gif

btw, ROTF's part on dialogue is indeed weak and soft
Eventhough with -18dB on avr and the help of power amp I still can feel that
I can't imagine how high I have to crank on my avr to get a clear dialogue sweat.gif

I agree with you on the dialogue part (have only pm-ed Mr Ng seconds ago about this). But could it be that Mr Ng has set the trim levels lower and thats why the dialogue its a bit soft?

Added on November 12, 2009, 1:20 pmOh BTW bro, dont need 2 crank vol on AVR, take the plunge and get XPA5 since got promo now smile.gif

300w @ 5 channels @ 4 ohms

I don't think the trim levels will cause much difference
I've tried before on Ip Man
even with +6dB gain, it's still soft at -20dB rclxub.gif

about the emotiva
I just posted on the thread
now I need to find a space on my oredi cramped rack

Agree. In fact Dali looks quite impressive on paper cos of its ribbon tweeter (more details) but when auditioned it, it lacks the dynamics & punchy feeling as compared to PSB.

Was comparing between the Ikon & PSB Imagine series,

Bro, on that time, you test with music or movie~~~~! mind to share ~~~? notworthy.gif thumbup.gif

Test with lossy movie. DTS test disc if i not wrong.... Anyway if you like sharp sound for movies, you might like the Dali Ikon floorstander.

If test music then Dali Ikon win hands down cos of the ribbon tweeter..

Do you know if Mr Ng has run the auto-eq in his Pioneer AVR? That should set the trim levels automatically.

It's even better than that, 350W into 4 ohms. smile.gif

Yup, this calls for another visit to Mr Ng to listen to music/concernts.

Bro, as far as i know, Mr Ng doesnt use those auto-eq function be it Audyssey, YPAO or others. I do agree with him cos it sounds rather flat and missing with those auto eq active. And BTW, i'm not referring to the AS EQ here tongue.gif

Yeah depends on your liking, each to its own actually...

Why dont u try the T65. Last time i was quoted RM2.5k for it (stock clearance) which is a darn good deal especially with its 3 woofers.

Added on November 13, 2009, 2:19 pmOh BTW, take the Imagine, no regrets tongue.gif

Pair it with Dali Ikon surrounds.. Very detailed smile.gif
