haha

smd nvr ment for audiolor biggrin.gif

and the value isnt accurate, the 1% i use are all 11.9Xk for 12k value, so better balance, more details too, but tht might be due to soldering 2 direct wire for the power supply of the chip, cos it happen again when i did the same for the tweeter amp

yea Y.C got a point

trend 10.1 are all make out of big component, and from review mention it sounded nice.

0.47uf and 0.1uf caps are kinda cheap for poly, so im thinking of trying 1 out biggrin.gif

I must say this thread is very quiet today.

Still no news of T-amps arrival, xtorm ?

I was looking at the specification sheet of T-amp and noted those capacitors with size 805 are actually insulators which could be replaced with Capacitor dielectrics proper. Prices of each Wima polypropylene caps are RM1.66 / RM2.05 for 0.1uF 63V and RM2.84 / RM3.56 for 0.47uF 63V at RS Components. The smaller value of 100pF and 1000pF could probably be left undisturbed for the time being. I'm ordering those 0.1uF and 0.47uF caps just like xtorm.

Are C15 / C14 input caps and C18 / C19 psu caps ? The T-amp only prescribed 180uF 25V for psu caps?  rclxub.gif

xtorm, would you be able to source for Auricaps 2.2uF input caps ?
*
yea no news yet, kinda worry now, will see if any good news tomolo

oh... RS have smaller voltage, mayb you can order for me too.

yes c14 and 15 are input caps. c18 and 19 are supply cap smile.gif haha, tht is according to spec, many try higher value helps biggrin.gif

auricap...hmmm not sure, but my supplier asure me those copper foil cap are as good as mundurf, all stuff are quality tested biggrin.gif if its is as good as mundurf, then at rm25 its a steal!!

gabanyayaya
yea i can get 6.8uf, im planing to put higher value for my mids amp...but i only have 2.2uf and 1uf mundurf....

eh ongbs, not working ah today tongue.gif
waitign to see pics!!

OK, I will order 2 sets of 7 pcs x 0.1uF plus 6 pcs x 0.47uF tomorrow. We go for the cheaper price ones ya? Difference between them is cheaper ones able to withstand heat up to 85C whereas the more expensive ones up to 105C, latter caps more suited for tube amp environment.

I read that Audiophiler caps are actually made by Mundorf and are very good. If you could source for Auricap caps at not too expensive prices, them I'd prefer to go for them, else I'll consider buying your Audiophiler caps. Err, you sourced them from PRC? Any possibility they turned out to be imitations?
*
hmm is there 7 0.1uf? nvrmind just get it tongue.gif they are not too expensive.. the size is small right? else it wont fit the board tongue.gif 85c are good enough...all wima?

i show him the link of some china website which are selling pretty cheap, he mention those are fake, he ask me to buy 1 of those and compare it to his...haha

QUOTE(gabanyayaya @ Aug 27 2008, 11:49 PM)
xtorm i think you better obtain the price list here according to its uF for this so called audiophile caps...

xtorm, polyesther and not polypropylene. I myself was also tricked by RS, check this out again: Wima 0.47uF 63V capacitors. The description of the first item is polypropylene nut when you select it, it's actually a polyesther. By the way, Wima got polypropylene caps at 0.47uF value ?

jazzy, all this thought and present action to replace the SMDs was after reading this site all on TA2024 amps. Check it out if you've yet to read it: mardis I thought it was interesting.
*
nvrmind just go ahead with poly..mks2 are better right? 0.47 are rm5 each at farnel,
duno abt the polypropylene (wow thts hard tongue.gif ) there is some other brand but voltage too high, hence big in size, and they are rm7 each i think

I got it from a shop tongue.gif
Just back home...no chance to test yet.

So far tested bookshelf (BS) speakers, more stable/better sound imaging.
Max current draw only 1000mA for BS with added extra one more unit of 8200uF power cap.
But power ON current draw went up close to 2000mA coz need to charge up 2 big caps tongue.gif

Took some time off during lunch and hit JP for some stuffs wink.gif
Got meself:

1. SMPS 12VDC 4.5A - same price as T-Amp!  thumbup.gif
2. LCR Meter - China Made but what the heck, now I can measure...  laugh.gif
3. Binding Post - for speaker connections
4. Ferrite rings                }
5. Enamelled copper wire  } DIY toroid inductor project  brows.gif
6. Hakko soldering Iron..

I have decided to go with SMPS- Cheaper than a linear PSU, therefore Value For Money!

Oooo am  I gonna be busy this weekend..  laugh.gif

gona wait for lots of pic!! haha
