Still no news of T-amps arrival, xtorm ?

I was looking at the specification sheet of T-amp and noted those capacitors with size 805 are actually insulators which could be replaced with Capacitor dielectrics proper. Prices of each Wima polypropylene caps are RM1.66 / RM2.05 for 0.1uF 63V and RM2.84 / RM3.56 for 0.47uF 63V at RS Components. The smaller value of 100pF and 1000pF could probably be left undisturbed for the time being. I'm ordering those 0.1uF and 0.47uF caps just like xtorm.

Are C15 / C14 input caps and C18 / C19 psu caps ? The T-amp only prescribed 180uF 25V for psu caps? 

xtorm, would you be able to source for Auricaps 2.2uF input caps ?

OK, I will order 2 sets of 7 pcs x 0.1uF plus 6 pcs x 0.47uF tomorrow. We go for the cheaper price ones ya? Difference between them is cheaper ones able to withstand heat up to 85C whereas the more expensive ones up to 105C, latter caps more suited for tube amp environment.

I read that Audiophiler caps are actually made by Mundorf and are very good. If you could source for Auricap caps at not too expensive prices, them I'd prefer to go for them, else I'll consider buying your Audiophiler caps. Err, you sourced them from PRC? Any possibility they turned out to be imitations?

xtorm i think you better obtain the price list here according to its uF for this so called audiophile caps...

xtorm, polyesther and not polypropylene. I myself was also tricked by RS, check this out again: Wima 0.47uF 63V capacitors. The description of the first item is polypropylene nut when you select it, it's actually a polyesther. By the way, Wima got polypropylene caps at 0.47uF value ?

jazzy, all this thought and present action to replace the SMDs was after reading this site all on TA2024 amps. Check it out if you've yet to read it: mardis I thought it was interesting.

Just back home...no chance to test yet.

So far tested bookshelf (BS) speakers, more stable/better sound imaging.
Max current draw only 1000mA for BS with added extra one more unit of 8200uF power cap.
But power ON current draw went up close to 2000mA coz need to charge up 2 big caps

I saw 1 CCTV console in a hardware shop yesterday...damn cun, medium size and fully brushed aluminum casing     

Took some time off during lunch and hit JP for some stuffs
Got meself:

1. SMPS 12VDC 4.5A - same price as T-Amp! 
2. LCR Meter - China Made but what the heck, now I can measure... 
3. Binding Post - for speaker connections
4. Ferrite rings                }
5. Enamelled copper wire  } DIY toroid inductor project 
6. Hakko soldering Iron.. 

I have decided to go with SMPS- Cheaper than a linear PSU, therefore Value For Money!
