No lah. The T-Amper's TT Session have NOT transpired yet! We're planning for that, right xtorm?
Normally there would be a small TT Session in Amcorp Mall, on sundays for turntable/vinyl lovers club |

Whoa, one day I did not log in so many postings?
As far as hissing noise is concerned, my T-Amp with NO input connections, is dead silent. With input cable connected very low humming sound detected when ears placed close to the tweeters. These are picked up by the input cable and amplified by the T-Amp, as highlighted by bro ongbs. But it did not affect my listening pleasure.. |

mysghooi,
12V 3A should be sufficient to power the T-Amp with the appropriate regulator circuits, that is! From your second picture, it is obvious that the 3 coloured cables are for you mains connection. Use the RED and BLACK for our 230VAC, as indicated on top of the transformer. The 3 unconnected terminals are 12-0-12 connections. Since you only need a single power supply, you only need to use the centre and one of the side terminals. Salesgirl will not know. Next time ask name and phone number! Probably 'easier' to get... How much did you pay for it? Normally a single secondary output transformer is cheaper than dual one.. This post has been edited by jazzy939: Aug 24 2008, 08:51 PM |

You don't connect it directly like that! The output is still AC. The T-Amp need a DC power supply therefore you need to convert the AC to DC.
Normally we use (four) diodes for this or a bridge rectifier for this purposes. Then a smoothing capacitor is connected to 'smoothen' the DC which still have 'ripples' in it. This is a basic/raw unregulated rectifier circuit. A better one would be a regulated power supply which will employ either transistors or dedicated voltage regulator IC made for this purpose! Too much to handle? I paid about 1/2 of that. QUOTE(mysghooi @ Aug 24 2008, 08:53 PM) Is the centre pin go to my t-amp ground pin? and the 12v go to +12v in the T-amp? Whoa.. you bought almost 'everything'
How much did you pay for the casing? I guess I got lucky to get it 'cheaper'.. should have bought a few for 'spares'.. Here's one of a small voltage regulator kit that I have for a 'spare'. This is single voltage, 9V regulator if I am no mistaken. QUOTE(mysghooi @ Aug 24 2008, 09:02 PM) More screen shot. some stuff already prepared. Hi sifu anything still leave? You either buy a kit or make one yourself! Buying a kit is simpler..
No, a bridge rectifier is one of the components. See the 4 diodes on the kit board? That can be replaced by a bridge rectifier.. depends on kits and circuit design... expensive ones will be using bridge rectifiers.. diodes are cheap(er) alternative.. We use 4 diodes or bridge rectifier(same equivalent) for a FULL WAVE rectifier.. do a google.. Bridge rectifiers can be in these forms: Schematic included. QUOTE(mysghooi @ Aug 24 2008, 09:18 PM) hi jazzy939 you mean I need to get the voltage regulator kit? Is this kit call the bridge retifier? Added on August 24, 2008, 9:18 pmHow much to you get it? mysghooi,
RM20? Whoa got some more? I think it's reasonable! Looks like it's made of aluminium alloy and some steel plates. Either anodized black or painted black.. Where did you get it? gabanyayaya, 'toy'? oh really? surprise me then! |

Of course there is! There are fixed 12V one or variable, eg 0-30 volts are usually available.
I bought a variable one so that I can turn it into a bench PSU and have all the voltages up to 30VDC! Picture shows the front panel of my bench PSU that I am using to power the T-Amp at 12.6VDC.. QUOTE(mysghooi @ Aug 24 2008, 09:33 PM) Attached thumbnail(s) |
