QUOTE(Y.C. @ Sep 10 2008, 10:42 AM) Sorry guys. I was toying around as to what to post when something odd happened. Maybe some of you can highlight to me what happened. I wads typing some comments. Halfway I stopped and went to get a drink. When I returned my screen froze. Refreashed it and all those I hv typed just disappeared. Since it's late I've decided to switched and went to bed. Next morning my friend sms me and asked why I posted a blank message. Now this is something new to me. Anyone knows why? Anyway the message I am trying to post is as follows: Y.C. you certainly served some sweet poison to your friends to make then join the t-amp game. If there are any more of those sweet poison please count me in, ya? Looks like I'm a bit late and missed Y.C. new poison. - the Sansui CDP. Yes. Y.C. I do own a t-amp and at this moment I am listening to it. will postt my comments later. Nice to know you guys and thanks for welcoming me. This post has been edited by ekool: Sep 12 2008, 01:51 AM |

ongbs, Oops… I didn’t check with you whether you read Chinese or otherwise before posting the 2 lines of Chinese writing in Post 1150; but anyhow and also for info of all, I’ve translated them (poison) to read:
SANSUI CD-X310 – The image of Sansui brand in the United States is highly regarded and placed within the top ten there, after ACCUPHASE but considered better than LUXMAN, YAMAHA, SONY ..... In the eyes of knowing audiophiles, SANSUI represents the excellent sonics of Japan .. And when we mention Japanese high fidelity, we would always think of SANSUI The CD player from SANSUI’s golden era .. works meticulously and is both quiet and stable in opening and closing of its CD tray, tracks excellently of data encoded on discs, fast and stable in reading encoded data, doesn’t skip whilst reading discs including those self burnt ones, warmth sounding but full of details, highly transparent yet sounding full .. vocals sounding sweet and well fleshed out, highly resolved with excellent details …. Possessing all of the good old SANSUI’ unique sweet sound and gentleness which is suited for listening to all genres of music like to Classical music and Vocals, and is the best companion to appreciate music by audiophiles. Jazzy, Cool bro, you really are a leader we could count on. ekool, welcome aboard TAFC again. I only ordered 3 units of Sansui CDP for my colleague, friend and myself. You’ll need to order from the URL posted in my earlier posting if you really do need a CDP yourself. You WON’T regret it as coupled with T-amp, we’re indeed having the greatest bang for bucks spent (just as Jazzy has puts it above). I’ve listened to my unit for several hours today and must admit I’m really impressed with its sound which is surely sweet sounding as claimed in above para (poison). The details through my T-amp are all there and come across without any harshness nor sounding hard. I had always believe that CDPs need at least 100 – 200 hours to run-in as in the case of my Roksan Caspian m-series-1 which only sounds right (at least to my ears) after some 300 over hours of playing music proper. xtorm, PM answered, kindly check. xtorm,
So do I! With any luck if there are, will keep you and the gang posted Y.C., Eh me? No lah... Lead into something noproblemo.. leader is a different ball game altogether I have not done any MAJOR soldering job other than the caps and inductors replacements on the T-Amps. The SMDs replacement will be a challenge.. Have to look at the schematics again... BTW, xtorm, you did replaced some of the SMD resistors right? How was the outcome? I mean the improvements? Oh yeah.. I bought four T-Amps! You have a Roksan Caspian CDP? Wow.. real solid unit that one! With a 'solid' price QUOTE(xtorm @ Sep 12 2008, 12:42 AM) QUOTE(Y.C. @ Sep 12 2008, 02:29 AM) ........ yep, i change the input resistor, imaging is much better and not as harsh, more details too, but i did it togather with the direct power supply line to the chip
i beleive the gain is atleast 99.9% accurate now in both channel as im using 1% resistor which was hand picked This post has been edited by xtorm: Sep 12 2008, 10:22 AM |

QUOTE(xtorm @ Sep 12 2008, 01:51 AM) I have only changed the input caps. Next will be the power caps and finally the inductors. Others may not touch b cos too small to play with and need more tools to get the job done. This are my observation about the board. As per original the overall sound is good. As good as some other branded entry levels amps. This t-amp cam match with most speakers incl el cheapos fr china. At full vol the sound does not even distort. The moment the input caps are changed it is a different story. With 3.3uf caps I noticed only slight difference in sound quality. Using 6.8uf the bass stand out more but the mid and hi seems to be lost. Brightness gone. The vocals does not stands out. You can hear a big difference. Even more bass if use with 8uf caps but again sscrifice on the brightness and vocals. At full vol your speakers may even distort. Maybe need to add a 3-10uf back for the hi. Finall I put in 2.2uf vishey caps and mannn what a beauty the sounds is. This post has been edited by ekool: Sep 12 2008, 01:59 PM |

Xtorm,
Did you count the physical quantity of items received against what was written on the reverse side of envelope? Any mistake from your original order? Since you have received those items, most of us here in this thread expect you to report back the difference in sound of your T-amp after each component change, fair deal? Joke aside, you need to ensure your fever go away for good. Ongbs, Yes, the Sansui CD-X310 cdp could play CDRs, no problem with that. ekool, Great posting! |
