i tink u can use da mobile terminal app to install .deb files.....
and the posix error cud be due to streamyx routing or slow connections issue...
try looking for another source of net connection...

Streamyx is messed up

Its throwing me this POSIX errors (I guess their routes got messed up). However it works fine with Maxis' 3G Service and P1 WiMax (via wireless router/wi-fi)

So if you're getting POSIX errors - don't fear. The problem lies with streamyx

try to go to a public hotspot say starbucks (TIME) and then update it there. If you have 3G data usage , use it to update it !

Is mobile terminal a windows app or a ipod app? I'll give it a try.
Been slow for most of my Cydia apps download but those apps which has a smaller file size dont really cause any trouble. Is those that are >1MB in size that's giving me the headaches.

Anyway, im in kuching so there's not really much of other ISP choices I'll give it a try next time at public hotspots.

BTW, has it always been this slow with Streamyx all these while? Or is it just a temporary thingy?

u hv 2 do it over wifi....
the whole prob is with streamyx only...
if they can improve their service, then awesome it wud be....
otherwise use starbucks wifi or smting similar....

Any application can run .gif image file? I tried iFile and doc both are not working with .gif file.

I found one cool app in cydia it called iBroke, this application can prank your friends who always want to playing with your iphone. iBroke is fun and your friends response are pricessless.

Sleepers.net has announced Kryptes, an alternative package handler to Cydia for jailbroken iPhones.

Kryptes is a new, lightweight, package handler that was designed with the end user in mind. A: No, we have tried to reach out to both of the developers for each one of these handlers several times. We have been continually shot down when we asked if we could become a default repository/source. IT was as if we did not exist, when we feel we have given much to the community.

Q: So why did you produce a Application, when there are already 2 prominent applications that exist that are similiar to Kryptes?
A: We have over 600 developers in our repository, we felt to give them the most exposure in the Community we were left with no choice, but to build our own Package Handler. If we would have been accepted as a default repository with the other Package Handlers the build of Kryptes would not have happened.
