hi all....
im using the D68 package in UTM johor....
kolej 10 for those UTM students out there....
the speed sucks big time....
torrent max can reach 60kb/s....
average speed is around 3 to 4 kb/s.....
browsing averrage speed is 20kb/s.....
im using huawei e220 modem....
the signal strength shows full strength HSDPA everytime....
but speed still sucks.....
but during the holidays when everyone else has gone back.....
the browsing speed can reach max 384 kb/s......
i so miss the raya days when all hav gone back home and i can surf like hell.....
oh .....
when the modem signal shows UTMS instead of HSDPA...
the speed is notably quicker....
around 150kb/s....
why is tat so ....??
anyone can help me change the connection to UMTS permanently....?
i duno how to do it with e220.....

You know wut causes that your area so slow? If got too many torrenting, of course line drop to GPRS.
U had opened to many port so celcom router cannot handle till line slow cm siput sedut.sometimes cannot login. shakehead.gif
Same goes if you got router in home for streamyx line 1mbps, about 20ppl torrenting.router cannot handle till the line drop. If unlucky your router burn like that. sweat.gif
So..the solution, u ned to gather all celcom broadband user stop torrenting. Better use direct download to reduce the problem.
I also face the same problem likes yours.located at UiTM Tganu. Now try to contact all celcom broadband user to stop downloading torrent files.
If 1-2user using celcom in your area.sure no prob to torrent anyway. icon_rolleyes.gif

Mr Cola,
My place also the same. HSDPA connection disappear since Monday. Luckily UMTS still available. To be exact, my tower name should be "Tabuan Laru 3" , Kuching.

Refer to post #869 :

Hi, there's no system for me to check what happened to the tower, if it's really too slow, you have to call careline so they will create a case for you, network technical will check at your area.

i notice, when the status drop from HSDPA tu UMTS
u'll get a problem
it means the network isn't stable
but at some area, which is only has UMTS coverage
the speed constantly good (384kbps)
i tried before in UTM Skudai
it keep changing from HSDPA and UMTS
and it suck big time doh.gif
