I find the coverage map misleading. It states my area has HSDPA but I never got HSDPA signal even once when I was using Celcom (and this was full bar mind you).

If u wun to get constant speed, better get streamyx rather than celcom broadband.
Celcom bb speed shared in one substation in your area coverage.
Like getting 4mbps shared by a wireless router. So if more user using celcom bb.the slower u get. wink.gif

For the Fair Usage Policy:
1/ How do i check if i've exceeded my 5Gb quota?
2/ This 5 Gb includes surfing and streaming as well? Online games?
3/ Is there a way to revert the speed other than waiting till next month?

You will receive sms notification from Celcom @ your alternate phone number you provided when you register your broadband.
2/ This 5 Gb includes surfing and streaming as well? Online games?
Include every sent/received.
3/ Is there a way to revert the speed other than waiting till next month?
If Celcom capped your speed, the only way is to wait the 1st day of next month.

No need to wait until next month. I average download 60Gb per month. Normally celcom will bar my line for 30 minute to 1 hour. Then my line can download again. Maximum experience is barred 1 day or next morning can use again. Every week kena barred 2 to 3 times. Sometime 6Gb or more baru barred. Definitely no need to wait to another month. I have used it since last year November. If need to wait until next month, I early go and use DiGi Edge 234kbps already. Very good for downloading drama. But sometimes the broadband will be disconnected automatically by itself. Sometime signal 2 bar sometimes 4 bar and the speed sometime fast and sometimes slow, minimum 800kbps, maximum 1800kbps. (D98 plan)

According to official Celcom's annoucement, you wil get capped when you reach 5GB usage. But afterall, it still depend on luck. Quite a amount of customers didn't get capped. You cannot confirm that everyone going to be the same as yours and being so lucky every month, do you?

No offences, just my 2 cent. Correct me if i'm wrong. biggrin.gif

Celcom reserves the right to implement the Fair Usage Policy.
Once Celcom implement, many people will say bye bye to Celcom, DiGi (Mobile Number Portability)

Fyi, it already implement whereby alot of custs been capped to 5GB usage. I am not sure how they work out, maybe random, maybe ... who knows?

If I am not mistaken, Maxis having fair usage thingy too, their usage is less than 5GB, I am not sure it is 3GB or 4GB.

For now, Celcom still the widest wireless broadband coverage, Maxis consider normal but service is not so good (users opinion).

P1 just launched but limited places only. Yeah, my friend just reg for 1.2MB but he can get up to 1.6MB, I am wondering what will happen after 6months? After 6months there will be quite a huge amount of users, the speed will slow down, even tho they upgrade their network/system, still will have alot of problem.

Still the same word, just my 2cent, no offences and pls correct me if I am mistake.

Ya, last time I used Maxis capped 3Gb then I changed to Celcom. Celcom is great. But DiGi is my next option if Celcom follow Maxis to cap people.

DiGi broadband is EDGE. Consider slow if compare with 3G. Not sure if DiGi's EDGE is really fast that you can get max speed for EDGE. Anyway, gd luck. biggrin.gif

Mr cola, if throughout the month i didn't receive any message from celcom on my alternate number (my D98 plan did not support sms service),
does it means that i was not capped? or is there any other way to check?

Base on current info i have, that's the only method to know either you're capped or not, that is sms notification at your alternative phone number. If you didn't receive any message, I bet you're not capped.

Did you feel the speed suddenly slow down alot? If no, then you're lucky, not capped. biggrin.gif

for surfing and direct downloading, it didn't differ much,
just the torrent download is slowed, but i think its the peers availability problem

& my billing date is 12th every month, if i get capped, it reset on 1st or 12th?
