In the US, they have nice public car wash area, wide space you can do anything you like. You feel very comfortable when doing the work...
I think we just need to pay $1 or $2 for the water? |

While carbauna usually comes in paste form. There is not much diff in terms of liquid or paste type, is all preference. Liquid usually easier to remove, while paste usually give u that thick wax feeling. |

QUOTE(YeeLoon7 @ Oct 21 2007, 10:55 PM) no no..the usual process clay->paint cleaner->polish->sealant->carbauna... the carbauna will always be last, you can skip the sealant and go straight from polish->carbauna also can. QUOTE(ralf @ Oct 21 2007, 05:52 PM) I see, thanks. doesn't really matter lar. For the price of RM115, there are other options that you can try. You can look for Klasse SG which selss around RM120 and it last longer and more blink than M21.Bought the Meguiars No.21 synthetic sealant d..rm115, quite expensive.. how come the liquid is Purple in color..hmm This post has been edited by lonewolf: Oct 22 2007, 10:03 AM |

Another car detailing thread
For my DIY car detailing/maintenance, I use: - Kit Wash & Wax car shampoo - Kit UV Guard for interior- dashboards, panels, leather seats - Meguiar's ScratchX - Soft99 Meta Clean liquid wax - PermaGlass RainZ Dura windscreen treatment - PermGlass Tyre Bumper & Trim Shine for tyres (Going to finish this and change to TurtleWax Wet'n'Black hopefully) - Meguiar's applicator pads - Microfibre cloths I also have a bottle of Meguiar's NXT Generation spray wax but it's really hard to buff off and the results aren't as nice as I would expect. Soft99 Meta Clean liquid wax is a really good yet cheap wax... the results are just excellent- shiny and smooth and beads water very well. Recommended to me by a professional detailer (Panel detailer/car wash for my car club) and have no regrets about it Considering getting a sealant and clay. I usually try to wash my car every 2 weeks to a month, and every once a month after the wash I'd apply the ScratchX before applying the wax. Waxing is done every 2 weeks to a month as well The stuff that I use- all except Soft99 Meta Clean liquid wax which is not in the photos » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

It worked for your friend then good for him... for me it took about 4 times (4 months) for the swirl marks to be lessened... not even gone. Yeah, it's applied like wax, except no need to let it "cure". Just apply and buff off, one panel at a time. Plan to reduce the usage of ScratchX now though, since the swirl marks are almost gone anyway. I guess the abrasiveness depends on car to car.
