QUOTE(man_utd @ Jan 20 2007, 09:53 AM) Yo guys, im currently using turtle wax (the paste type). Is it good? the Turtle Wax( paste type ) is so so, but can't conplaint much coz it affordable. Next round, go try out SOFT99 Rain-HOP or Fussco Coat. No it will not make your paint thinner. Polymer base is long lasting than carbauna waxes, but the depth carbauna is better. car shampoo usually doesn't strip the wax that much, it does but just little only.does this kinda wax makes my paint thinner everytime i wax it? should i use polymer base wax? and 1 more thing, will washing the car with car shampoo wash away the wax also?? sorry car detailing noob here. |

doesn't have water spot doesn't mean the product is useless. Different product works different.
Like Polymer/ Acrylic base, it sheets water rather than bead...while the carbauna beads waters.. Some ppl like water sheet, some like water bead. It's all preference... this is what i did to my car 3 months ago ![]() QUOTE(clsiluf @ Feb 24 2007, 12:10 PM) lol, same as CARS in MV, 100 of lights to shoot the car and looks damn shining...those ladies owner must be damn proud... those CAR's are all crap place. Anyway, back to scratchX. To cover those spider web scratches. There is only 2 way how does a product work. poyo, those polish product from MG and scratch x claim to be safe clearcoat...but as i know scratch x MG can remove those minor scratch permanently right? so it means remove scratch means remove 1 layer right? The first is fillers, like Swirl Remover 2.0. It has alot of fillers that fill the gap on the scratches. It will look great when you just done ya waxing and polish. but after a new washes, the swirl will be back as the fillers is removed. The 2nd method, is by removing a clear coat from the paint. Thus, your paint will become thinner. By using such product, you will get a clean FRESH surface for waxing, that why the outcome is GREAT!!!.. rain-hop if not mistaken is old product. The new one now is Fusso Coat..
Your step 3 and 4 is actually the same. you just need to do either one. as far as i know ScratchX is usually not use for the whole car. your method is what i was trying to do as well, but i didn't coz i can't do layering for SG later on. Klasse you can get from car wash SS2, same row as perodua showroom. |

just stick with the basic rule...clay when is needed, prep the surface before you seal with wax/sealent.... Just for ya info..NXT is not that great anyway.. This post has been edited by lonewolf: May 2 2007, 12:06 AM |

QUOTE(ralf @ Oct 17 2007, 05:12 PM) Err, i have meguiars scratchX, ColorX, NXT Techwax and Step2 polisher.. sealant the a layer of wax. but the bottomline is, there is no product that can prevent water mark. Just wash the car regularly, once or twice per week will do.However, i find the NXT wax does not prevent watermark ler...Any can recommend how to prevent watermark, buy Synthetic sealant and apply few layers on the surface before waxing?? |

QUOTE(YeeLoon7 @ Oct 20 2007, 08:20 PM) Hi, anyone can tell me different about this: Synthetic resin made wax [sealant]Synthetic resin made wax Synthetic polymer wax Soft paste wax Conventional solid wax Conventional hard paste wax thanks. Synthetic polymer wax [sealant] Soft paste wax [usually carbauna] Conventional solid wax [usually carbauna] Conventional hard paste wax [usually carbauna] sealant usually comes in liquid form, but there are paste version as well. While carbauna usually comes in paste form. There is not much diff in terms of liquid or paste type, is all preference. Liquid usually easier to remove, while paste usually give u that thick wax feeling. |

QUOTE(YeeLoon7 @ Oct 21 2007, 10:55 PM) no no..the usual process clay->paint cleaner->polish->sealant->carbauna... the carbauna will always be last, you can skip the sealant and go straight from polish->carbauna also can. QUOTE(ralf @ Oct 21 2007, 05:52 PM) I see, thanks. doesn't really matter lar. For the price of RM115, there are other options that you can try. You can look for Klasse SG which selss around RM120 and it last longer and more blink than M21.Bought the Meguiars No.21 synthetic sealant d..rm115, quite expensive.. how come the liquid is Purple in color..hmm This post has been edited by lonewolf: Oct 22 2007, 10:03 AM |

QUOTE(Yukaeshi @ Oct 23 2007, 11:04 PM) Another car detailing thread scratchX once a month?.. For my DIY car detailing/maintenance, I use: - Kit Wash & Wax car shampoo - Kit UV Guard for interior- dashboards, panels, leather seats - Meguiar's ScratchX - Soft99 Meta Clean liquid wax - PermaGlass RainZ Dura windscreen treatment - PermGlass Tyre Bumper & Trim Shine for tyres (Going to finish this and change to TurtleWax Wet'n'Black hopefully) - Meguiar's applicator pads - Microfibre cloths I also have a bottle of Meguiar's NXT Generation spray wax but it's really hard to buff off and the results aren't as nice as I would expect. Soft99 Meta Clean liquid wax is a really good yet cheap wax... the results are just excellent- shiny and smooth and beads water very well. Recommended to me by a professional detailer (Panel detailer/car wash for my car club) and have no regrets about it Considering getting a sealant and clay. I usually try to wash my car every 2 weeks to a month, and every once a month after the wash I'd apply the ScratchX before applying the wax. Waxing is done every 2 weeks to a month as well The stuff that I use- all except Soft99 Meta Clean liquid wax which is not in the photos » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |
