hi, im looking for a homestay apartment to rent in melaka. im going to melaka this weekend and plan to rent an apartment for 1 night. anyone know any homestay apartment available in melaka? i've googled through but most of it have been rented out. appreciate if anyone could give me some contacts. my budget would be around 150 - 200

ya lo, some chicken rice balls are bad taste, u must get the good taste one. Got one Lian Jie was introduced by Ho Chak one quite nice & very cheap, u shld try

Lian Jie = He Ji? If that's the one on the middle between Ching Wah Farmosa..The chicken only nasi but the rice balls still no fight to chung Wah..Chung Wah sell authentic hainansese chicken so only Pak Cham Kai..thus no varities compare to he Ji & farmosa. But their rice balls ..I can say the best in Malaysia..not their chicken

not he ji, he ji has big shop in jonker walk, the 1 i said is Lian Jie (sister Lian), she has only a small stall at hawker centre beside ping ming primary school at jln taming sari (pengkalan rama). if u r melaccan, u shld try once, she only sells from morning dunno what time until noon, sometimes i passed by at 1pm she already sold out.

Oh OK.. u din sate earlier the location how tourist gonna know where is Lian Jie? Furthermore that location is not tourist area...I dun think tourist will go except locals..BTW, I migrated out from M'cca 2 decades ago.. ...I give a try on lian Jie once I'm bck to M'cca nxt mth

ya, under big tree & the hawker looks old. I didn't know when she started there but i oso didn;t notice her stall until i watched Ho Chak few months ago but most of my friends know it, looks like i a bit sua ku

Added on October 29, 2009, 11:01 pmsumimase my fault...ya that area is not for tourist coz tourists must buy expensive & ave taste foods at he ji or ku chen (lousy 1), cheap & nice foods is for local people only, sorry to say that coz everything selling at tourist's hot spots are expensive

lian jie one per person is RM3.30, that day 5 of us went there, plus drinks only RM20+

we went he ji & ku chen when my relative came last time, 10 of us cost almost Rm200. ki siao one

another cheap & nice one at melaka baru, sell in a shop lot. but i need to find out the name & road 1st if u 1 2 know coz i went there oso turn & turn until I stumble upon it

Haiyah that's the corner of the 3 tourist famous chicken rice been discussed many-many times here liao lah...i.e the most famous chung Wah ( best rice but so-so chicken, he Ji -Avg overall & Farmosa - lousiest of all)...Now new jonker chicken rice ball opened just opposite chung wah...dunno nice or not but seeing que there too..

BTW, the kiamsiap Wison chicken rice use to be famus wth locals waht happen ah..so quiet liao?

wilson has many branches...
onli A FEW branches provide nice chicken rice....

duck mee, nasi lemak, nyonya laksa, chee chung fun, satay celup, chicken rice, nyonya popiah, wantan mee, pork rice

ya, strongly agreed with your comments about the 3 famous tourist chicken rice ball shops. Ku chen is the lousiet one especially the one near Renaisaune (dunno how to spell, it was Ramada, old name), i went there with my relative who has few restaurants in Alor Setar, that day we got the rice balls look like overnight one coz got one layer "thick skin" on the rice balls, and my relative told me the chicken is not fresh, i just know the chicken not nice but he said he can differenciate fresh but not nice or not fresh and not nice, and still dare to charge us expensive, kanasai!

Wilson chichen rice nothing special la...only the name scared ppl. The Melaka Brau chicken rice ball which I mentioned in my reply above, cheap one, is near to Wilson melaka baru but different row, that day we wanted to eat at the chicken rice ball but closed then we eat at Wilson, so very near only.

melaka baru chicken rice nice..im staying nearby there so quite frequent went there and eat. nice and cheap.

Give the name and wikimapia link of the melaka baru cikin rice lah..how u expect tourist or outsider looking for this?

ya, those who tested and tasted the chicken rice ball at melaka baru sure will agree with u, nice & cheap, i think is the cheapest in melaka. but lunch hours always full, my lunch hour only 30 minutes, so tak sempat wait!

hehe i stay nearby melaka baru need around 10minutes to reach there...
as long as u guys able to locate where is wilson's chicken rice in melaka baru then it is easy to locate the delicious cheap chicken rice ballz shop.
im not sure wads the shop's name as im not dat reaaally good in reading chinese.. hehe

OK will try to locate the chicken rice ball shop at melaka baru when I'm bck in Melaka end of this mth.

BTW, anyone of you know the current top & best Nyonya restaurant in melaka, I hv only tried ole Sayang which is so-so nia...I heard someone mention Nyonya Suan not bad? Wondering is this Halal & the current best nyonya in town? thinking of booking a nyonya restaurant for upcoming malfreemaps gathering end of this mth.

To add: not those hawker fair Nyonya food hor (i.e no donald & lily & 88museum cafe)

my mum is a nyonya...
so din even bother to try any of those nyonya restaurant in malacca.

You can try Makko Restaurant almost directly opposite Ole Sayang, or the Nyonya restaurant inside Equatorial Hotel, the food is not bad but abit more pricey.

The cendol in Makko is one of the two best cendols i ever tasted, the secret is in the gula Melaka.
