ya, u will think to try ice cream or cold drinks there coz too hot liao when inside the stalls.

i like handcraft items especially related to buddha coz my house theme is zen + balineese style, need this type of deco.

we went silom market, lots of thing there but too expensive la compare to CTC.

we went papong to see tiger show, they told us no entry fee, just charge drinks but when went into there, they charge drinks for the girls plus tax ++, per person is RM100+, luckily I kept my money in pocket & left around RM100 in wallet, so show them my wallet, & luckily got 1 thai who can speak chinese sit beside us, he help to translate & they took my Rm100 for 2 persons. See naked girls play balloons, waited more than 30 minutes still no "couple show" so went off.

next time must watch pondan show & "men" show, my friend said all naked men perform on stage, never seen b4 but dunno bangkok got or not coz my frenz watch in pattaya.

Oh OK.. u din sate earlier the location how tourist gonna know where is Lian Jie?  biggrin.gif  Furthermore that location is not tourist area...I dun think tourist will go except locals..BTW, I migrated out from M'cca 2 decades ago.. smile.gif ...I give a try on lian Jie once I'm bck to M'cca nxt mth  smile.gif
*
sumimase blush.gif my fault...ya that area is not for tourist coz tourists must buy expensive & ave taste foods at he ji or ku chen (lousy 1), cheap & nice foods is for local people only, sorry to say that coz everything selling at tourist's hot spots are expensive laugh.gif

lian jie one per person is RM3.30, that day 5 of us went there, plus drinks only RM20+

we went he ji & ku chen when my relative came last time, 10 of us cost almost Rm200. ki siao one mad.gif

another cheap & nice one at melaka baru, sell in a shop lot. but i need to find out the name & road 1st if u 1 2 know coz i went there oso turn & turn until I stumble upon it sweat.gif

Haiyah that's the corner of the 3 tourist famous chicken rice been discussed many-many times here liao lah...i.e the most famous chung Wah ( best rice but so-so chicken, he Ji -Avg overall & Farmosa - lousiest of all)...Now new jonker chicken rice ball opened just opposite chung wah...dunno nice or not but seeing que there too..

BTW, the kiamsiap Wison chicken rice use to be famus wth locals waht happen ah..so quiet liao?
*
ya, strongly agreed with your comments about the 3 famous tourist chicken rice ball shops. Ku chen is the lousiet one especially the one near Renaisaune (dunno how to spell, it was Ramada, old name), i went there with my relative who has few restaurants in Alor Setar, that day we got the rice balls look like overnight one coz got one layer "thick skin" on the rice balls, and my relative told me the chicken is not fresh, i just know the chicken not nice but he said he can differenciate fresh but not nice or not fresh and not nice, and still dare to charge us expensive, kanasai!

Wilson chichen rice nothing special la...only the name scared ppl. The Melaka Brau chicken rice ball which I mentioned in my reply above, cheap one, is near to Wilson melaka baru but different row, that day we wanted to eat at the chicken rice ball but closed then we eat at Wilson, so very near only.

ya, those who tested and tasted the chicken rice ball at melaka baru sure will agree with u, nice & cheap, i think is the cheapest in melaka. but lunch hours always full, my lunch hour only 30 minutes, so tak sempat wait!

*
i need to go back office ask my colleague its shop name & address, if u come to melaka, enter Ayer Keroh, u can reach there 1st, it is nearer than jonker walk or melaka town. but still need to give u the exact location. Since soonlee33 is staying there, maybe he can help icon_question.gif

You can try Makko Restaurant almost directly opposite Ole Sayang, or the Nyonya restaurant inside Equatorial Hotel, the food is not bad but abit more pricey.

The cendol in Makko is one of the two best cendols i ever tasted, the secret is in the gula Melaka.

*if you want to know more abt the other best cendol let me know.
*
Makko was nice but since they changed the chef, the taste out liao.

1. Chiken rice ball (no need to say, every shop at Jonker Street I tried before..so far the best one for me is the one at the entrance of Jonker Street with Ah Xian cupboard standing there, forget the name)

2. Satay Celup (few shops but the one near Lorong Bukit Cina one so far in my top list..Capitol if not mistaken)

3. Oh Jian (tried few stalls but the one near Bunga Raya is my top list.)

4. Sotong bakar (yao yu), siham etc etc (of course tried the one near Bunga Raya too)

5. Poppiah (of course so far the best for me is the one infront of Mdm King's Store)

6. wan tan mee (one of the shop lot behind jonker street, Jln Tun Tan Cheng Lock if not mistaken...not so special about it)

7. breakfast at Juat Lye coffee shop before too. Haha, this one near industry area around Tesco, tried their coffee, curry mee and prawn mee..nothing special also
1. He Ji - ok lah but expensive, Lian Jie & Melaka baru 1 is better & cheaper.

2. ya, it's capitol, i oso think it is nicest in melaka but getting expensive & long queue. I always laugh at them when they queue at roadside to wait for seat, likw got free makan. so melaka ppl dun line up there 1 coz very pai shei if frenz saw us queue that, sure kena laugh like nobody's business. Tips: go at 5:30pm & b4 6pm, u dun need to queue.

3. That one very famous but never try coz hv to wait very long. as long as kena wait, i will never try coz i m not paying money to queue, no matter how nice is the food, as long as need to queue, then sorry la. Anyway, Hong Hai (no.7 or No.9 forgot liao) in Bandar Hilir is very nice, some pple said is nicer than Bunga Raya 1, who is quite lan si oso.

4. the one behind the old capitol theater, at lorong, ok but a lot of rats there.

5. Popiah infront mdm king not bad.

6. wan tan me at Da San Yuan at Bkt Cina is nice, sell at night only.

suggestions:

1. western food at wok & pan at melaka raya not bad especially the pork burger. the chef was working in Renaisance hotel b4.
2. fried chilli meehoon near durian tunggal in one old kopitiam is nice, chilli very hot. sell in noon but night time not sure.

*
that 1 i never tried b4...ya i know kolo me, when i was a kid we used to call wantan mee as kolo mee too, sweet memory tongue.gif

in my opinion the best white kollow mee is in malim..
operated in hse 1.
*
ya, that 1 oso quite famous sometimes ago but i dunno whether it is still famous coz almost 10 yrs never tried liao...

when talk about bunga raya, the roasted pork rice (sho ba pen) at lorong (same place with oh zian) also very famous, sell at day time only, oso many yers never tried lioa. hard to get parking at day time in bunga raya, this is why seldom go there liao coz very jamp.

i m going for dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday (in melaka), any good suggestion for me? if no suggestion, i think i will go wok & pan for western food coz i love western food drool.gif

if you know ujong pasir or portugese settlement then u shld able to go crystal bay. there is only one main road for ujong pasir, u need to turn right to portugese settlement but to go crystal bay, u dun turn, just go straight, u will reach a traffic light, go straight, u will reach a small bridge, this is the junction to Medan Ikan Bakar Duyung, dun turn, go straight until u reach the T-junction traffic light, turn to right & keep right, until u see an "arc" written Crystal Bay on your right, turn into there & go straight, there is residential areas, turn to the first right junction and go until the end then u can see many stalls there liao, clear or not rclxub.gif
