I found out that A.C.Ryan PlayOn! HD also can be use as NAS?

it cant be used as a NAS but it can play the movie that is store in a NAS

Synology is from Taiwan. Not sure if it's available in Penang though.

I guess it only sell in lowyat. Czone in lowyat got sell this nas. Maybe another way is pm denhock in this forum. Probally he can arrange for you through sending by post.

Thecus N0204 miniNAS was selling at the price RM399, ALLIT.
After I read some review, seems like not a good idea to use a 2.5" hard disk for NAS?
Since 2.5" is more expensive and mostly at 5400rpm.

Had it for about two days before returning it.

Three Pointers:


- The interface is damn good. Full of features and functions, doesnt lag out nor is hard to use. very good.
- Easy to install and run,
- No kick for speed. Maybe because im expecting much more then what was given.
However, I was getting 35mb/sec reads, and 25mb/sec writes. but to me, its not enough. That is using direct crosscable to pc




btw, please dont even consider buffalo NAS. its bullocks, transfer is like 5mb/s?. so much for buffalo

Just bought Thecus N2200.

Found out two cons.
1. Cannot download HTTP w password protected.
2. Cannot access to this NAS outside internet.

Wonder Synology DS110J can o not?

If yes, I wont hesitate to sell off Thecus N2200 to buy DS110J.

What do you mean "Cannot access to this NAS outside internet"? You cannot access the nas using direct network cable?

Added on February 7, 2010, 10:37 amCause the NAS is running 7/11. With a 2.5' HDD, it cannot last long compare 3.5'. With higher price, lower speed and lifetime, it is not cost effective.
