Guys, will the 3m outdoor filter affect water preasure? How do we wash and replace it?
I guess we will need to hire a plumber separately for installation? What will be the price?
Thanks for help

Yes or No. Depends area, but most probably it won't.

If you based in KL, the reseller will offer you for a cheaper price installation if I'm not mistaken, try nego with him.

oh ok..as long as if I buy now, then next year new product afraid no spare parts etc..
but heard its 10 years guaranteed got spare parts...
so confusing..coway, diamond, etc...but I do feel more to eSPRING..got to decide by end of the month...
*
if I'm not mistaken, eSpring come with 2years manufacturer warranty, anything gone wrong to the electronic board or the sensors inside the filter, they do provide 1 to 1 exchange for the parts. I remember around 4years ago, my newly bought eSpring filter sensors gone wrong after I use for around 12months which almost require to replace new filter, Amway company gave a new filter for free. lol I save myself wallet for another Rm500 bucks. laugh.gif

Thanks for the recommendation. What would it cost me for that setup, with installation?
*
eSpring normally is included free installation by the Amway distributor you bought from. As for 3M AP902, you have to ask the reseller offer you how much for fixing, depend your area.

Guys is it ok to buy used water filter?
Just need to change the filter rite?
*
That depend which brand of used water filter you talking about. If is 3M or eSpring are good to go for it. Both are user replaceable filter so once you bought it make sure, does it still have warranty left or not and replace a new filter inside.

What is your budget anyway? What kind of the used filter/brand that you decide to go after for?

Budget is around 400...actually im planning just to get the small water filter..you know the one that has size like a jug?using 1 filter.
*
Budget for RM400 is too low and not recommended. But Culligan brand are optional choice, is cheap and NSF certified. Long-run are slightly expensive.

Here is the link for it: http://www.lelong.com.my/culligan-ic-ez-4-...7-01-Sale-I.htm

RM399 for the whole filter but you have to DIY for installation.

QUOTE(d_goh @ Oct 7 2014, 11:26 AM)
RO is not the best choice for drinking.

It is not the cleanest, although they try to claim it is. Distilled water is the cleanest and purest.

When come to drinking water, we have to know the following:

Q1) it is clean enough, how clean is clean?
Q2) it is suitable for human to drink?

Answer:
Q1) Water should be free from heavy metal and VOCs, in this context RO water done a good job on heavy metal but fail short with VOC [Volatile Organic Compound], whilst also remove the beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium.

Q2) Our blood pH is between 7.35-7.45; RO water without minerals will have a lower pH, hence our body need to adjust the water to around pH 7.35 before the water can enter our blood. To do this, our body will extract calcium from our bone, hence prolong consumption of RO water will cause calcium deficiency.

RO water however (as mentioned by chickytien) is used by dialysis patients, some kidney transplant patients can only drink distilled water.....those are people with special needs....not everyone is suitable to drink RO or distilled water.

Even WHO has a write up on telling people not to drink too much RO and distilled water.
*
Can't agree more than this. RO water filter salesman always told me that human can gain calcium through drinking milk or eating food, and they claim water of less calcium or any other minerals than the food/drinks we taken.

Yes, above statement is right but they forgot the our body need to neutralize everything before enter our blood/our own use. I asked him what was your PH value of your water, they told me slightly lower than 7, if I'm not mistaken, they told me is like between 6.5-7.0. This kind of stupid myth should be debunk many years ago.

I could say they selling/marketing skill are good and very informative too, normal consumer would easily fall into their talking as well, if didn't do/read the proper WHO claims.

Personally RO Water doesn't taste as good as mineralised water. I still prefer to filter and boil my water.
It depends on each individual's taste.
*
I could drink both boiled water like yours or filtered water only as well. But if the water didn't filtered but boilling only, I just couldn't stand the dull flavor of the water.

Anyone could share the link to the website or the PDF file that previously we have discuss about the alkaline water is for the purpose of medical purpose using by doctor in Japan? Which also mentioned about normal people shouldn't not encourage/recommend to take it as daily consuming.

I need the documentation to show my uncle that mislead by salesman marketing talk. Now a days, really need some proven research to debunk all those stupid myth. shakehead.gif

It’s not high pH alkaline water we need, it’s water with high levels of ALKALINITY.

Well, as far as I know, as long the water have minerals in there, they will be above the PH balance, it even reach PH 8 above sometime.

QUOTE(lowya @ Oct 8 2014, 11:48 AM)
pH is related to the hydrogen ions in water and stands for “potential of hydrogen.” Alkalinity is a measure of the capacity of water to neutralize acids. It measures the presence of carbon dioxide, bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydroxide ions that are naturally present in water. At normal drinking water pH levels, bicarbonate, and carbonate are the main contributors to alkalinity.

Bicarbonate water is the healthiest water to drink. It is critical to see that alkalinity does not depend strictly on pH. pH measures the degree of alkalinity but not its quantity. It is like the relationship between temperature and heat.
*
Now I get what you trying to tell me after did a quick checking on the Wikipedia. Is the terms where we always mistaken talking about.

Before we discuss about alkalinity, making sure that the water that we drink is filtered properly and the money that we spend on a water filter in order to get a proper filtration is more important. afterall, what we are talking about here is water FILTER. not medicated water, not healthy water.

Ive seen people demonstrating how alkaline water works (by using pH test strips). high pH = good water. low pH = bad water (harmful in fact according to some salesperson).

if you want alkalinity, slice some lemons and drop them into your warm filtered water. drink it. Having said that, getting all of the harmful impurities out of the water you drink will make a bigger difference than changing its alkalinity.
*
I would throw some salt into the water if the salesman demo the bad water it to me. Is magic, now everyone can have good water making at home! LOL laugh.gif

Always follow the guideline recommendation to change your filter. POE still can lar, but not POU, overdue too long could cause your water even worst.
