I'm looking for a POE outdoor water filter. Budget ~RM1000. I prefer those unit that won't affect the water pressure by much.

I'm in PG.
*
3M AP902 best bang for buck, many people recommend this. Easy to DIY, no need labor fee, blablabla fee.

Yesterday I went to 3M dealer to enquire on the model you recommended. They charging RM1319 (no discount) and installation RM250. I tried to get discount becoz the RM1319 is the RCP price but no luck. In garage sales RM1k++ include installation?

hi guys,

When should I change the eSpring cartridge ?

1) It is just a bit sound and red colour on the telephone icon and no red light on the 'replace cartridge' word, there is still 1 last level of cup with blue light.

2) it has a red colour light on the telephone icon and 'replace cartridge' with a constant 'bee' sound and 1 last level of cup with blue light.

Thanks.

- Where their product manufacturing from or OEM?
- What technology they use? Membrane or Sand?
- Initial payment how much? Labor fee how much? extra workmanship charge how much?
- Replacement in the future long run how much?
- Spare parts easy to be find locally or not?
- is it possible to do it yourself (DIY) in the future or not?
- Warranty how long? Warranty include which part? Is there any T&C?

Thanks for the advice.

I believe you have heard of Alphamax. Will its sand last longer than membrane? And, will sand able to filter substances that we all wants for the reasons we buy water filter?
*
Sand last longer than membrane. Well, is a Yes but comes with a conditions, that you need to backwash it weekly/monthly. Water push all their way into your house/tank, so there might be possible of sand go through the pipe. Also, the sand media require to change like 3-4years once, which damage your wallet like RM300-600++.

Filter substances that we all wants? Uhm.. first you need to understand what is Point of Entry (POE) and Point of Use (POU). External filter or Outdoor filter is Point of Entry. For drinking or cooking purpose, you need a POU filter.

Thanks for the reply.

Are you using eSpring (10-0186-IN, 10-0187-IN) model? I think it's the model code which I found it on the Catridge/Pre-filter replacement booklet.

Do you have the softcopy of the manual book? My parents said they did not have it when they bought the filter system.

Thanks.
*
I'm using that one. PM you the link to the manual.

Sand filter maintenance cost. Understood. What about the other brand type filter? Some using cartridge or some have carbon inside 1tank. So, normally the other brand what will be their maintenance period like and cost range per maintenance?

So, POE what type filter recommended to install and POU recommended?
*
Some is like membrane type. Not recommended to use Carbon inside your POE filter, as Carbon will filter all the chlorine so that your backup water tank have no chlorine inside so that those kind of microorganism will building their home inside your water tank lol. laugh.gif

If you do check all my previous post, I always tell people for 3M 902 for outdoor(POE) and Amway eSpring for indoor(POU).

Edit: If you looking for long-term affordable maintenance, make sure those part are easily to find and able to DIY. save you a lot of labor fee.

Hi..

I just called alphamax call centre to recheck on the statement of the A8045 of its sand filter does not require to change.

The guy operator said only require to do 2-3weeks backwash and sand does not need to change except filter comes will activated carbon. So, alphamax with A series, does not need to change anything.

And, for the installation, they will give Class6 PVC for the piping. So, it this actually better PVC than the common Grey PVC pipe or same grade as the Polyethylene Pipe?
*
how many type of media inside the Alphamax model you talking about?
What is the current price?
Pipe things need to double check the area you install is it expose to sunlight or not.

If you just slightly scroll 1 to 2 pages above, you saw two 3M reseller commenting about it, so you can try to PM about their offer.
If you are stuck with low budget, you might even want to check their Raya Combo Promotion that might possible save you even more.

so washing plates... vege using stored water ... looks not ok... rite?
btw those coway filters ok for drinking?[attachmentid=4064955]
*
Just get an NSF 42 + 53 filter for drinking + cooking purposes. Like 3M brand or eSpring brand(by Amway) or above have people mentioned of Culligan.

Coway using RO tech, I would not recommend anyone to use RO tech water filter.

Morning everyone

For myself, i have alphamax A0845 at outside, this wont filter chlorine. Correct? So what else system shall i install for proper drinking water?
*
You do not need a filter that capable to filter chlorine for your outdoor(Point of entry). Proper drinking water system(Point of use) for drinking/cooking purposes require at least NSF42 and NSF53.

Here is my suggestion:
- eSpring have NSF 42+53+55
- 3M (DWS 2500T-CN, Easy Complete, AP DWS1000) have NSF 42+53

Some other forumer here recommend the Culligan which have NSF42+53 as well, but is not available local Malaysia, you have to import yourself or other importer.

1) espring
2) 3M DWS 2500T-CN
*
I believe that previous post zheilwane have reply to you that the Alphamax is also made by same manufacturer of Perfect Steel.
eSpring I bought for RM3200, but I trade-in my its predecessors model got rebate RM600, so I pay RM2600 only. brows.gif
Not sure for 3M DWS2500T-CN, but you can ask the reseller here for best price. As currently doing Raya promotion on their website combo with external filter. smile.gif

i am getting from waterexpress.com.my

Magic Slim
Table Top Dispenser
8201C (Black)
RM 1,480.00

Anyone bought from them before? The said they are manufacturer and have their own factory. Pricing also much better than the MLM ripoff.
*
The model you saying above is totally RO tech OEM rip-off, you can cantact the manufacturer to made one for you with your name brand.
I have no proof on hand, but the info I taken from the Magic seller, if I'm not mistaken, he told me it was the same manufacturer came out from Coway.
Reminder to you, that is RO filter tech. blush.gif

For those who always wondering, do those OEM manufacturer really exists? Does this model looks similar or familiar to you?
Here is your Magic brand: Magic Slim Table Top Dispenser 8201C (Black)
Here is our local Malaysia OEM Manufacturer: TKMSB OEM Manufacturer for Table Top Dispenser

As long you willing to pay them and order a large volume, they can chop your name on the Water Filter. How about "Abubin Super Water Filter"?

I'm looking for water filter that is suitable for commercial usage. any recommendation?
*
Depends what kind of commercial you talking about. smile.gif Are you the employer of the business?

QUOTE(lowya @ Aug 12 2014, 07:12 PM)
water filters don't come with 'meter', its quite impossible to know when to change depending on usage.

Given malaysia water standard, i wonder if tests are conducted how many filters dare to pass the health level, especially given the disappointing SYABAS quality of work as we all know. Once in a while when they change pipe, you get mud inside your water filters, it would sure spoil it isn't it?

i wonder how often do you all change your filters and what filter brands you have been using? anyone mind to do a mini review especially those who used more than 2 brands before... thanks in advance. (Sellers please refrain from promoting).

most water filter brands are over-rated in malaysia. many in the market are OEM claiming korean technology without supporting trademark.
*
I think you just missed out some debating discussion for the past few pages, you can simply takes 15minutes to read through it. smile.gif

My personal recommendation: Take outdoor for 3M AP902, and indoor for Amway eSpring.

As for the "Meter" you talking about, is depend which model. There are 2 purpose using of Water Filter that we always talking about. First is POE(point-of-entry) aka Outdoor Water Filter and second is POU(point-of-use) aka Indoor Water Filter. Some of them do come with meter and calculate how many water have gone through it.

FYI, how to choose outdoor filter? there 2 type either Sand or Membrane. Above I recommend to take 3M AP902 is because it is not Sand or Membrane. Is like something between both, Semi-Membrane I can say? And it comes with timer to remind you to change filter. There are comes with Pros and Cons for either Sand or Membrane. So is the matter of budget or your personal preferences.

As for indoor filter, are easy, Performance > Warranty & Services > Design & Feature > Price. (at least for me)
Performance are refer to the the Certification of the products, NSF Certification are most important for picking indoor filter. NSF 42 and NSF 53 are minimum, eSpring I mentioned above have bonus NSF 55. But these kind of NSF talking is easily fake by simply putting the sticker on their product or printed in their brochure. So be sure you use this website to check their product NSF certification to debunk their crappy talk. NSF Checking Here

Forget about Top 1 RO filter, Energy filter, Alkaline filter, Hexagon filter, Cure Disease Filter.

Also, a guidelines for NSF 42, 53, 55.

Restaurant, medium capacity (70-120 pax a day). Yup I am the employer of the business. The water filter need to be inside the restaurant, and to cater for the kitchen only.
*
I recommend go for RO type of filter for your F&B business. Main is reason is cheap. As for which model, I think need to check around it first.
