mine is condo... sometimes can't get the sun directly...mostly air dry it...

my wife always complaint abt the smell...she wanted to buy a washing machine with hot water...she claimed it'll help..it is true ?? icon_question.gif
*
Hot water do help, on destroying your laundry laugh.gif
The key point here is we need to dry it in natural way, wet and high humidity = smelly.
Heating up when wet also not a good idea.
I brought back some detergents from Middle East and test over here, indeed there are some difference on drying, with and without direct sunlight.
Is the bacteria inside our laundry that cause the bad smell.

sigh...still need to wear smelly cloth...so embarrassing leh  cry.gif

That's the problem when humidity is high. In ME where humidity are lower, even I put lesser also it won't be smelly.

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Oct 20 2014, 03:09 PM)
if laundry not rated for it and if certain coloured yes can spoil.  biggrin.gif  what detergent brand those? bacteria in tub also another unseen problem. After tub wash preferably open hinge to promote faster drying of tub if possible. Or do the once in a year borax and bleach if tub can take it.
*
Bacteria in tub nothing much can be done, so keep the WM dry is the only way, that's why I won't buy FL as water are trapped in the rubber seal.
So killing majority of the bacteria during wash are important. Follow by direct sunlight thumbup.gif
Also, some people never check properly on the limitation of their laundry and simply put to wash. And some that does not knows, just set the hot water and that's it.

what kind of hose do you guys use for the inlet of water?

mine leaking, the section from the water tab.
*
You have to screw the person that install the WM for you.
But you need to modify your self(if you know basic of plumbing), as the 4 screws type of connection really have problem when you disconnect it. Not that easy to align them properly sweat.gif

Doesn't matter. Did you try the plumbing (teflon) tape? Do it on both ends: wm inlet and wm tap.
*
More on installation problem, Teflon tape do help but not always. Heck, I even keeping 10 roll of them, don't for what icon_idea.gif

Any good model to recommend? Looking for 8kg
*
Thoshiba or Panasonic, but why you need 8KG only? If you want to wash bed sheet or comforter, at least 10KG.
This is for your second WM or buying for new house for a new family? If for new family, 10KG minimum.

Dear all sifu,
I need your opinion for Electrolux 7kg front load washing machine model "EWF12732".
Is is worth for money or i should just go for normal model like "EWP10742" or so on?
Many thanks
*
7kg WM won't able to wash curtain and bed sheet and you need to send it to dobby for cleaning, each time cost rm30-100 depending on weight.
If you are washing them once every 3 months, after 5 years you can buy a bigger WM.

TL are not like last time, they can wash as clean as FL like some said. KG/$ are way cheaper and can save water also.
Already using FL for quite some time, for me to really wash clean my laundry, I can't use quick wash(no doubt very fast at 45 minutes like my house's TL) but still got soap bubble if I put too much of detergent since the laundry never fully being submerged during rinsing. Have to set a longer washing cycle(or quick wash another time), so at the end, time and water wasted.

It depends greatly what you want in the end of day. Got time to waste, have to be choosy on detergents, FL is good. If you just for the sake of dump laundry in, put detergent and wash, TL will be best option, not to mention KG/$ are cheaper.
Does women's underwear also can put in FL to wash? Nope, you can't also.

No bed sheet, comforter and curtain to wash? Must consider this also. As a new family leader, you need to consider all this, else you will end up money not enough.

WM if you can afford then go for bigger capacity to be save up in future and also much last longer.
*
Yes, you are right on this, especially for FL, if daily average is 6KG, must get a 9-10KG, since the boasted are 9-10KG, actual only 5-6KG unlike TL boasted 10KG, actual 9KG.

Samsung ecobuble really used less water than others brand.
*
Yup, that's right, but make sure must use low sud detergent and must work under air cond environment everyday.

I'm looking at this FL LG 20kg model.

http://www.lg.com/my/washing-machines/lg-WF-HX200GV

Any comment?

So far I found this the only brand with soft-close on top mirror closer.
*
If you have time to waste, why not?
For me, I won't choose inverter model of WM since the power consumption only slightly better than non inverter.
Toshiba, Panasonic still in my list. Kimchi brands I will consider if they are offering warranty with a spare during sent for repair.
What you need to check is the power consumption, the safeguarding features(do not buy models with cover/door locking mechanism), water usage and your typical daily load.

The price of it? As said, do not get inverter as far as possible.
