Thanks super sound. I actually owned 2 FL and 1 TL prior... the TL really gave me problem. Baju tangled even with low rpm + less spin time. the prior 2 FL was much better... both electrolux. but u know la.. electrolux memang mahal. pana is at least 700 bucks cheaper for same 10kgs. even if buy electrolux 9kg still more mahal than pana. thats y so dilemma!
*
In some sense, that's the setback of TL, but now the newer type should able to solve tangling issues.

Sorry for troubling u
The water keep leaking from this thing unless i closed the pipe

Leaking on the joint. Worst case need to look for plumber if using teflon tape can't solve the problem.

Looking into Toshiba TL 10kg
Saw Courts in my area here now got offer RM1099

Currently WM got black stuffs coming out from the softener vent. Dunno why
*
It is quite cheap, even 9 years back I bought also about the same price. Still working till now and can continue for another few years if I service the motor.
1 of the reliable TL WM brand beside Panasonic.

As for black stuffs, I think you never take out the container and clean. Softener will turn black if stick on that container.

Tried to find way to open the container but it seems like there's no way to open them and clean. Might have to disassemble the machine partly.

That container can be pulled out tatally lar sweat.gif

Ya, see if it got catch release where it feels stuck. It's to prevent accidental pull out.

Hi, tumpang here to ask a question. I have a semi-auto washer (separate washer and spinner). Now, every time I use the spinner, there is a trip and I get blackout. Have to switch on the main switch to get electricity back. Is it still can be fixed or considered kaput already.

Thanks.
*
You have some short circuit some where. Need to get electrician to have a check.

Thanks supersound, you mean the washer is not spoilt? My husband said my previous guest may have splashed water on the board (where all the controlling dials are) as the water pressure is very high.

Ok, I will get an electrician to have a look.

Thanks again.
*
If the circuit board is shorted, you won't able to use it at all.
So you need to reduce the water pressure.

supersound salesman told me LG FL got quick wash for 15mins only quick wash and dry.
*
FL's quick wash are meant for 10-20% of the actual load. If you put full load, it will take close to 1 hour and not clean also.

Just an update to my electrolux machine ...

It's confirmed that the main board is spoilt, and to replace one it will set me back by RM300. I bought the machine at RM1K 3.5 years ago. Only the motor is still in warranty now as the covering period is 5 years.

After much thoughts, going to take the pinch to buy a new one with better technology, longer warranty and hopefully better efficiency.

What i have in mind now is the Toshiba S-DD 12kg Washing Machine [AW-DC1300WM] with the direct drive technology. I'm not so concern about the power consumption as I don't think washing machine consume much power compare to ac, oven etc. Water efficiency is at top of my mind. What's your feedback on the water consumption for this toshiba series please? General comment on this Toshiba model is also appreciated! Thanks a lot!
*
If you are talking about Toshiba's TL, they won't consume much power and water. For 12KG, power required about 500-600W, if your average wash cycle about 1 hour, 2 days only consume 1 unit. But front load would be more.
And all brands the circuit board only warranty for < 5 years or change once. Motor also the same, give you 20(just say) years also you are entitled to change once in that period.
If want the motor to last long, you have to know your typical load each wash, like if your each wash is 6KG, then 12KG is good. But not getting 16KG, it will waste more water.

Yes, it's the TL model. very strange, can't find the water consumption and ratings for this washing machine in google. anyhow, 12KG is good and found one at the right price. Just placed order. Update again when I have used it smile.gif
*
Don't worry, for TL, Toshiba are the best on using water. I've been using it for the past 9 years.

Great!

Btw, wanted to ask ... when i compared electrolux drum capacity vs other brands, why does electrolux's drum look so much bigger? One of the salesman told me it's because electrolux's capacity is based on actual weight of the clothings, example 9kg electrolux drum is for 9kg actual weight of clothings, whereas other brands is not. A bit puzzled by this explanation, didn't ask further in order not to appear very stupid lol
*
Don't know on this, as electric appliances I only prefer Japanese brands.

Hi guys,

Appreciate some advice here. Currently I am considering a Hitachi 13kg TL washer. If I am not mistaken there's only Hitachi that has the auto self cleaning which i am very much interested in. is this just a gimmick or does it hold some truth?
Anyone has experience with hitachi WM before?
*
Do not get Hitachi's TL, the cover mechanism are very fragile and damaged easily. Toshiba or panasonic are better as they don't have this(using other method as safeguarding against cover being accidently opened).

I don't have a good impression on Toshiba as my mom's toshiba's electrical panel gave out after 2 years.Any panasonic TL around 12-14kg to recommend? Will mould be a problem for these other 2 brands since there's no self cleaning?
*
My Toshiba used for 9 years also never bother on mold issues.
Just get the no inverter type and call it the day.

Any reason why get no inverter motor?

From what I knew was inverter type can last much longer n less vibration & noise, also do less energy.

Non inverter just like AC motor noisy, higher wave n power with vibration else.
*
Use less load sure it can last. But not the circuit board.
And it is not easy to repair by outside repairman.

So any reliable TLs to recommend? The new version of Hitachi's TL cover mechanism is pointless, IMHO. They have a latch and a button but I can still open the lid without pressing the button. =_=

If you are still looking for Jap brands, may consider Toshiba or Panasonic thumbup.gif

Bought Hitachi BD-W85TV 8.5 KG and with inverter drive, use it for 2 months already. When my mom came to my house and use it, she likes it very very much, compared to her washing machine in my hometown, it's Electrolux washing machine, with inverter as well (I don't know the model)...

I have studied for almost 3 months before choosing this Hitachi model, our family are always choosing Electrolux, but since I own a house, I want to give a try on another brands. We're new to Hitachi world, but seems it's a home appliance top brand  in Japan (Japanese are sensitive and very good in energy, price and time saving), so my wife and I gave it a try and the result is superb.

The major differences that my mom mentioned are about the noise and the vibration when rotates. This Hitachi model is very silence and almost no vibration when it's in top spin mode.

Now, we want to buy Panasonic dryer, NH-P80G2, it's an inverter heat pump condenser tumble dryer and I've already spent a month on survey and we decided to buy this one. I would make review about this model to people who are about to buy these machine.  smile.gif

Basically all WM when age < 4 years don't produce much vibration. Also depend greatly the typical load you are doing daily.
If you whack it daily with > 70% load, then it will fail faster.
